hi all, my migraines have gotten worse (usually 1-4/month) to now 4-8/month.  so my doc today wanted to start me on low doses of pamelor at bedtime to help.  i guess in higher doses they use this for an antidepressant , but in lower doses it can be used to treat migraines. has anyone been on this, did it work, or were there horrible side effects. thanks for any help!

I took Pamelor, but not for migraines, I was on it for depression.  It's one of the "older" meds.  I just remember taking it at night.  I think it was to help me sleep since I wasn't doing much of that.  I don't remember any side effects, and trust me, I have quite a few to meds.  So I guess one of the side effects must have been drowsiness.

I've been suffering badly with migraines too lately. Probably because of everything thats going on for me right now.
I take Imitrex shots. They have become my life saver. I have a shot before I get to the throwing up which gives you
worse pain part. They take a good 15 minutes to work, but work they do. I've had migraines all my life, and at last I
don't have to suffer......
