Thats just about
typical,,when we try to have a good vacation in an exotic
location it turns out to be bad for our health. Last time I was there I ran into a few bugs myself, but they were leaches. Rice patties are so much fun to slosh through. I did get to see a tiger though,up close, and yes there was no cage. I almost had a bowel problem right then and there . I also was very watchfull of my surroundings, you know, trip wires, booby traps, ambushes, stuff like that. Good thing for me we had a medic close at hand. I hope the locals are more friendly for you though, they did not like me much, but the guys from down under were a great bunch and made up for the locals. I did not get to ride a elephant, but there were plenty of water buffalo. Lucky for me, I got to visit for a few years and not just weeks. Plenty of time to take in all the sites and sounds and pick up souvenirs. Still have a few the doctors could not remove.
Hope you feel better soon and get to ride the elephant...I hear they run on peanuts..
If we would read the secret history of our enemies,we would find in each mans life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.
