Ive posted about New York and Company pants in the past.  You are all going to start thinking I work for them or own stock.  I don't... I just swear their designer must have our problems.  I went to the black Friday sale that is still going on (all pants and sweaters, buy one get one 50% off) and finally found the pants I have been looking for all winter.  I have been looking for a pair with a heavier material that will keep me warm walking to and from work in winter weather.  But, they have to be soft and comfy, and have some forgiveness in the waist.  Oh, and I expect them to be stylish and not look like "elastic fat pants."  I guess I ask for a lot right.  Well I found them.  I tried to add a link to the pants on the website but I can't say for cetain which are the pair that I bought.  They definatly have a soft elastic inside the waist band, but not the kind that bunches together on old lady pants.  They sit below my belly button but are not super low rise.  They still have a button and the clippy thing just like normal pants.  They are kind of wide leg and not too snug in the butt, but are still sexy.  I got the gray with pink and gray stripes and a pair of black ones too.  My last pair by this company are as comfortable as sweatpants but look a little big on me.  I hope others that are looking for comfortable, stylish, professional clothes will try these too.  They run full price $30-$45 but there are often sales and they are still a lot cheaper than the pants at Bananna and J Crew that are ridiculous and over $70.  Yay for crohns friendly pants.  Now if I could just find some crohns friendly tights.  Gap had "low rise" tights but a single pair was $13.  I always get runs (hahaha a crohnie w/ runs... I mean runs in the tights) so $13 was a bit too much for something I might only wear once.

Ok - the ones I bought were the GRAND CENTRAL PANT, STRIPE - AVERAGE STYLE #04622565 and the ones that I already had were similar to the THE LEWIS STREET PANT - the solid gray one is STYLE #04592483 and only $29.95. Just another warning, they run a tad big but are sized small, med, large - instead of by numbers. That is how you KNOW they are comfy. I run around a size 6 in adults, 7 in juniors and am 5'7". The small fits be fine.

Navy- you make me laugh.  I'm not "super skinny" but thanks for the compliment.  And when I referred to "fat pants" I was not referring to our beautiful plus size crohnies but the gross pants manufacturers try to put out for those with more to love.  I'm sure you know the pants I'm talking about but wanted to make sure I didn't offend anyone by saying "fat pants."

LOL dudette, I just bought three pairs of pants from that place since I started school, because they are the only place with "nice" pants for shorties like me (I'm 5'2") and every freakin' month it seems like I drop another size!  I love that place.  I also do not own stock, LOL!

I knew what you meant about those icky scrunchie waist bands Fizty, I just have to tease you for being an easterner, size 7 around here is skinny! LOL
Sarita, tall people have a hard time finding clothes too, it is darn hard to find something with a 35 inch inseam for ladies.
LOL!
Huggers!

I have to admit there have been times that I have shopped in the maternity areas because I was sooooo bloated and distended.

Anyone know of any brands that make stylish pants for the over 50 woman (in other words, not low low low) that is not petite size (I'm too tall for that category) ? Even size 4 is usually too big on me I've lost so much weight. I found a nice pair of dressy pants that aren't too low, in size 2 junior. But they are few and far between. they are almost always too "young" for me. This is a very frustrating problem. When I was a teen I could never find pants long enough for me. Now they make them super long but too big everywhere else. And petite sizing is not just short in length, its short all over, including thigh length. They just don't look right.

Id say try NY and Company too... they sell average, short, and long in a variety of sizes. Short is just short, not small waisted.

When all else fails (including tailoring) you might want to look at getting them made for you. It depends on the fabric, my last pair was gaberdine, so it was about 60 bucks which is cheaper then getting them from eddie bauer.

LOL Mike I know it sounds weird but since most womens clothing is more figure conforming then the mens clothing it really is wonderful to find pants that fit. I have to admit just being able to find stuff that fits and is comfortable makes you want to do a happy dance.

Root!! *gasp* I just learned that they took the NY and Company out of the Maine Mall!!! Arghhhh. I bought mine at my parents house over thanksgiving so I had no idea it was gone. Rumor has it they still have one in Bangor. Ive never even been to Bangor but it might be worth my time lol. NY and Co. is the name of the store, not just the namebrand, so they typically only sell it at that store. They do have a website but I hate ordering stuff I cant try on. Here is the website: http://www.nyandcompany.com/nyco/.

Ann Taylor gets a little spendy sometimes, but they have petites that always fit me...I never can go wrong with good ol' Ann!  And the clothes are not teeny-bopper at all!

What a great and FUN post!  I will def check out those pants, I have some black pants from Express I love b/c I can get them in a lower rise so they're not right against my abdomen.  From losing weight and then gaining it back on I go from a size 2-size 6 but I am most comfortable when I am a size 4 (I am 5'2 and right now about 115).  I LOVE Ann Taylor and can usually find some great deals in the petites sale section.

My first pair did not. Ive had them for years. The second pair is new and says to wash cold. I haven't washed them yet. I wore them for the first time today!! My co-worker thought they looked big on me and I am 5'7 and was wearing 2 inch heels. At 5'2" you might want to go with "short" or extra small. They should have a sizing chart online.

I got complimented on my haughty-taughty pants today.  They are quickly growing looser and I think I'll be in the market for a 4 relatively soon.  This is coming from a girl who wore a size 12 for years.  Now I'm a puny!  But dang, those pants have physician silly med student written all over them, LOL!

I wear the petites and they are perfect for my short, stumpy legs!

FYI for those with AAA from what I read that accompanies the card you get when it is time to renew the membership you get a discount at New York & Company. I have a preference for Old Navy myself. I am really short and even have to hem petite clothing so it doesnt matter where I shop. The propper length of pants for me is a girls 12 and my waist doesnt fit into kids 12 and havent since I was 18 so I hem lots

Yeah I've tried the girls department too, all too short :<( I don't know why because there are a lot of young teens taller than I am (5ft 3) I guess they have to move into junior sizing I got a real complex about this when I was a teen, nothing fit. then I expanded and wore larger sizes for years. Now I'm back to the original problem.

I found pants at Fashion Bug that feel like sweatpants and look like lounge pants when not on, but once you put them on, no one can tell they are stretchy elastic waist pants (my dress shirts are not tucked in). I have one in brown and one in black, both petit.
