Hi Everyone,

Well, I managed to sneak in one more hospital stay before the end of the year, lol. I hope I am done for a long time.
Thanks everyone for the prayers and warm wishes, it helps so much. A special thanks to my friend Curley for loking out for me and letting you guys know whats going on.

As it turned out I have cellulitis in both legs. My right leg is much worse than the left. For over 2 yrs I have been battling this problem and all the drs wanted to do was ref me back and forth to each other and saying this is not something I deal with. As it is I have a new PCP and I walked into her office Monday morning after t-day. She immediately said I am admitting you to the hospital for IV antibiotics and pain control.

It is really a nasty thing to ever become afflicted with. It started with red, hot, swollen legs. From the knee down to my foot I had blisters like a severe sunburn. Alot of the blisters broke open on their own. When that happened, thats when the infection went rampant. I had one place on the side of my right leg on the inside that swelled up so big I thought it was a knot, it stuck out about 2-3 inches. Upon closer looking I found out it was a huge blister. It felt like my heart was pumping in that leg. I barely stuck a needle in the edge and yellow fluid shot out across the room. That is not an exaggeration either. By Monday I was really in trouble because of running a temperature and my leg was in bad shape.

I still doing antibiotics at home. They are small ball lookng things and I attach it to my line that is in my port a cath, very easy to.

Also, while in the hospital my kidneys started acting up. My creatine levels are elevated, so I have a kidney doc now. Not sure why they acted up, there are any possibilities ranging from too much of a diuretic to kidney stones, which we think I passed one recently.

Sorry this is so long & boring. I have to ask that you guys keep me in your prayers because  I am not out of the woods yet. Hugs to all....................Susie

PB I have taken a stance that right now my health is alot more important than anything else. I have done all my shopping for my grandson, he 2 1/2, lol. The kids are all getting money. Right now I am so paranoid I will catch something from a sick person.I figure as long as I avoid crowds thats about the best prevention there is. I woke this am to water in my mouth so I knew what was next, long with some explosive bm's. It was just bile & acid. I finally managed to get some Zofran down. I finally made it back to bed and when I woke up I felt much better. Who knows what it was. Keep me in your prayers. Susie

Hi Susie glad to hear you are home and hoping for improvement soon. I know how you feel about being out shopping with the stores so crowed I guess it would be best for you to be home until your in better shape. Everywhere I go people seem to be sneezing or coughing this is my first year of having to be more careful about colds and stuff. Bet your Grandson will soon be getting excited I have a teen and like sharing the things to do now like decorating and shopping. Next week we are putting up the tree since we get a real one. Even started to play the Xmas tunes now. Keep in touch and must say Curley was great in letting us know how you are doing. lol gail

Oh good, you are home again.
The infection itself might be effecting your kidneys. I've had bleeding from mine when I have had high fevers due to bacterial infections..
Well, continue to get well. & avoid the bloody hospital during Xmas!

Sincerely,
Matthew

You know back in the days when I was getting Remicade every 4 wks, I was never sick. No more sinus infections, no colds-nothing. In winter I always had bronchitis, but Remicade stopped all of that for me. I did avoid crowds and stayed away from anyone sick. Ever since we stopped the Remicade, I catch anything and every thing comin down the line. Can't figure it out. Susie
