I am in so much pain I just have to vent to people who understand. My whole abdomen is stabbing pain and sensitive to the touch. I don't know why. I am on remicade and take a bunch of meds for nausea/pain/spasming/swelling.. Everything was fine and then BOOM I am doubled over crying and trying to deep breathe. It is so scary, I also got the runs today which is just lovely. Anyway who do I call? My GI or PCP? I don't think it's a flare because there is no blood, just pains... Any advice??
I have been using heating pads and taking a double dose of Ultram every 4-6 hours. I just want relief!

You should call a doctor who is willing to listen to you.  Did you eat anything prior to this pain?

You also need to watch out for any CD complications.  Good Luck.

Diagnosed with CD in 1994;

I think I am gonna go to the er and see whats going on. My PCP wont see me until next Friday and I can not wait that long suffering. I don't want it to be the start of another flare and just want to rule that out. I hope they will help me at the er and not dismiss me because I am not in flare.

I am sorry that you are having to deal with all of this pain.When I start hurting real bad I will get in a hot bath and soak and alot of times it will help my joints as well as my gut.I can't tell you the times that I have spent in the ER but sometimes we have no other options.I hope that you get to feeling better soon.

I had a similar experience. Was on Remicade for several months and feeling great..all signs pointed to "remission" then one day BAM!! pain pain pain. I never had blood in my stool or anything so there were no signs of a flare per se. Finally had to have surgery..had 14 inches of instestines "fused together" and some parts kinked off. Definitely go to the ER or your GI ASAP. Hope you are feeling better soon!

FINALLY home from the hospital! Thanks for all the support, it feels great to have this place to go to where people understand me :)
So it's IBS causing all the drama in my belly. Got my CT scan and had thickening in my intestines but my blood work came back good. I was given a new anti-spasm med called Levsin to replace my Bentyl for now. I am so happy it isn't a flare I can't even tell you. I cried when I found out I was ok, I was so relieved!
It was the day that lasted forever and I am exhausted and going to get some sleep. Thanks again for all your responses!
