Well I'm definitely in a flare. The ileum shows at least 5'' of ulceration, some quite large, with edematous and granular mucosa.
The sigmoid also shows edematous mucosa. This he took a biopsy of.
The endoscopy shows esophagitis, not gastritis as first thought. Now I don't know what all this means. Whether the ileum needs to
be treated surgically or not. The guy who did my scopes, was not my specialist, so now I have to wait to speak to him. Do you guys
have any thoughts? I also have my pancreatic test to look forward to on Wed..I'm not a happy camper!!

Vicky I'm glad that you came through your test ok, sorry you still have to have a pancreatic test to go through on Wednesday. How come your specialist didn't do the colonscopy and endoscopy?

Vicky, well that's one test down, I guess they will wait until after the next one to decide their course of action. how are you bearing up?

Sorry to hear your in such a bad flare, but at least now you know. I guess they'll have to wait and see how your pancrease is doing before they can decide treatment. Good luck with the MRI tomorrow. When do you see your specialist?

My MRI came back fine, showed no scarring of the ducts, but my CT scan came back showing some sort of fluid around my stomach, something going on with my one of my abdominal membranes (that may or may not have to do with the surgery), and a small hernia. Not sure what we're doing about any of these things, or even if we need to. We're still working on getting me on a medication for maintenance. I'm going to an immunologist to see if we can desensitize me to the 6mp. It never stops, lol.

Let us know what your GI says when you find out.

Hi guys, I'm bearing up. Although the bearing down pains when I go to the bathroom are getting far worse. I guess
it's down to the swelling in the sigmoid. You would think that the LLQ pain would be at it's worst, but it's actually my whole
belly that's tender and painful. I guess these are all things I need to tell the specialist on the 12th, if I make it that far!!
Judy, I'm so pleased your MRI is fine, but you're as weird as me.If it's not one thing it's another. The fluid around your
stomach is clear I hope, and not blood. Don;t you just love it when they kinda leave you in the dark!
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm about ready to have the lower half of my body removed, just to have some
rest from pain & toilet issues. I feel so tired from it all, and man if I have to do another bloody prep I'll die. Sunday was
one of my worst days ever, and I've done lot's of preps before, but this one had me down & crawling.
BTW I was so looking forward to being put to sleep yesterday, because I felt so lousy, and darn me if I didn't wake up
with a Migraine!!! Just my luck Huh! Love you all...

Vicky bless your heart. I hate that you had such a horrible time with this prep and then to wake up with a migraine only made matters worse for you. I pray that things go better for you on Wednesday when you have your next test.

Thinking of you today, Dunny. I hope the pancreatitis test goes well for you w/good news the result. You've got enough on your plate, you don't need that too. I'm sorry to hear there is likely sigmoid involvement. Somehow it just seems more bearable if this darn disease would stick to one area! I mean I know, one of its traits is that it skips but doggone it could keep its skips small and close to where it started instead of hopping all over the place!!! (((hugs))).

Vicky, good news and bad news...when they took the biopsy, they're probably not looking for MAP...you will want to get them to do that, if you can't with that one, you will want to get them to do another one...it sucks, but trust me, I'm the sunscreen :P

And The endoscopy shows esophagitis? isn't an endoscopy looking at this sigmoid colon? and esophagitis is dealing with the esophagus? I'm confused
Tests I've had:
5-6 colonoscopies (lost count), Barium follow through, Barium enema, 2-3 CT scans, plenty of xrays (lost count)

Prescriptions:
Prednisone (started at 40mg stepping down) been on this one 3-4 times
Tried Imuran, no good
Would try remicade if I had coverage ($2500 per 2 hour IV :P)

Herbal remedies tried:
4Life Transfer Factor Plus (2 bottles at 3x recommended dosage)
Primal Defense (3x dosage recommended...yuck)
Many different probiotics including:
VSL #3 (450 billion live bacteria!)
    PRIMADOPHILUS REUTERI PEARLS
    Primadophilus Optima
Omega 3 Oils (caps and liquid)
GNC liquid multi (had to get this one from the US)
Paraway Parasite Cleanse (2 in a row)
New Roots Herbal Parasitis Kit (2 in a row)
Liquid Aloe Vera Juice (2x1oz. per day)

Just ordered Mastic Gum capsules (120x1000mg) and Mastic Gum pure from the tree (10gr. bag)

I guess I need to clarify, The colonoscopy looked around my bowel. The endoscopy or gastroscopy went down into my
stomach. I guess just my terminology.
I have no idea why he biopsied the swollen area of my sigmoid, I'm guessing to check to see if it's a skip lesion, or even
cancer, as I have a pretty poor family history on the female side, but you right about one thing it would suck to have another
one. Something at this point in time I would not consider. I've had enough testing this last couple of weeks to last me a
lifetime, and like you in the past I've lost count of colonoscopies, SBFT MRI etc: right now I'm done.....

Passed my colonoscopy today. No colon problems. Not even a sign of the one polyp removed 2-3 years ago recurring or any others. Some inflammation just inside the ICV but she couldn't get in very far.

She mentioned the pill cam. We need to talk more about that. I'd like to do one IF "I" could get a chance to see the pics as well and IF they offer the dissolvable pill first to check for "size".

As I suspected tho, she wants me on Entocort and gave me a script for it. I'm gonna go back on the Pentasa first to see if that stops the symptoms.

She is going to have her office reschedule the endoscopy sooner than the 03 Jan 08 I've been scheduled for.

We used my Christmas present: a new video cam that records on DVD and can do still pictures as well. (My daughter and I collaborated - hubby doesn't know. Daughter is repackaging it and wrapping it as my Christmas present from him to me. She always helps him shop for something for me and once they decide what he is going to get me whoever finds it first buys it so he'll just reimburse her for it and she'll give me the money to pay my credit card).
