Has anyone else had issues getting their insurance to cover Humira? I have taken several other medications in the past that just didn't keep the flares under control, and the doctor wants to bypass the Remicade (I have a stricture) and start me on Humira. The nurse called today and said she had to fax an authorization form to Cigna, and she said that there may be a problem with them covering it because I haven't tried Remicade first.

Now, I'm all worried that it won't be covered. I hate all of this red tape. This whole process has already taken a month, and I was getting excited that I'd be starting the Humira soon, but now I'm discouraged.

Diagnosed with Crohn's in 1995.
Have used Prednisone, Flagyl, and Pentasa in the past.
Now on Imuran/Prednisone - waiting to start Humira.
One stricture in distal ileum.
No surgeries yet.
