Well it's been a while since I've been on here. I was on Humira (free from myhumira) but my wife graduated from grad school, got a job and now I can't really afford to be on Humira as we make too much to qualify for free meds. Anyways I am back on Asacol and it seems to be helping a lot, I however get bad cramps whenever I am at home and especially when my 3 year old is around. I am assuming it is brought on by anxiety. He is high strung and I just know he's going to test my patience so I get stressed out before he even does anything. I asked my GI for some help in this arena and she wanted to try Levsin... does anybody have experiences to share with me? I really hope it works. My stomach cramps up bad and I get horrible gas. Sometimes so bad I just have to crawl into bed. Something is causing it more than just the gas though because when I'm alone and can relax I don't get this problem nearly as much.
*--- CURRENT MEDS ---*
75 mg of Predisone for 21 days then tapering
Imuran 100 mg once daily
Asacol 400 mg 3 x daily
Papaya Extract w/meals
** !! ** Starting Humira this week ** !! **

I uses to use this a lot, often as a standby when I couldn't get my Bentyl scripts refilled for x-amount of time ( insurance issue.). Its not a bad med, & its easier on both eys & stomach than Bentyl. Plus, you can get it in your system faster if you get the kind that disolves under the tonque.

I have taken both levsin and bentyl, and both are excellent medications for cramping.  For the longest time, I was on bentyl, but it lost its effectiveness.  Now I take levsin and have the option to take 1 or 2 as needed.  This is also a good medication to help you sleep if you are able to take 2.
