Hi, I am a 31 yr old male recently diagnosed with chrones disease.  The nurse practioner that I am seeing called and told me the results of my pill endoscope and that it showed chrones and started me on Pentasa 500mg six (6) pills a day.  I have been on them for approximately two weeks with no change to my symptoms.  The one symptom I have that I have not read anyone else having is urinating frequently.  I have trouble with the bm too, but I pee a lot.  More than when my wife was pregnant all three times.  Also, my stomach if very sensitive to touch.  I can't stand to sleep on my belly anymore, nor have any of my kids sit on my stomach.  Does anyone else have this problem.  I hate taking medication so any home remedies I welcome and anything to help get some relief.  Thanks for any comments.

Welcome to the Forum,

Everyone really is nice and helpful here.  I have the same problem as you.  I pee all the time, it can be quite annoying on somedays.  But yes.  Also, my stomach area is very sensitive to touch as well.

welcome! when I was first sick I got several UTI's, so that could be a problem. my only symptom is pain, so I understand. just know that the next few months will probably have their ups and downs as you adjust to all of this. keep coming here and asking questions. yp
48 y/o woman.  Diagnosed 4/06 after colonscopy, SBFT, CT-scan all showed crohns. 3 months later, after pred and remicade, all tests showed no crohns. In December had adhesions cut through a laparoscopy. Now just taking Glycolax, metamucil and vicidin as needed.

I have to urinate frequently too. My theory is that I get bloated from the Crohn's and it puts pressure on my bladder. It takes about a month for the Pentasa to kick in. I needed to go on steroids to get out of the flare, and now the Pentasa is working for me. Good luck and welcome!

Greetings. I was put on the same dose of Pentasa about a two months ago, and come to think of it I did make more stops into the bathroom. Thinking about it, the past two weeks or so this has tapered off a little. The Pentasa made me nauseous, which landed me another medication to control that and tolerate the Pentasa. I was diagnosed this year as well. Hang in there and keep us posted. This forum is a wonderful place. I come here nightly now, just to learn from others. It's great to know we are not alone. The people here all seem real nice too.

Thanks to all who list their medications too, btw. My GP just added a new CD medication today that I have seen on many of the members -- umm... can't remember the name of it right now, though. I am hoping that will help.

Do you guys have a signature set up that you just paste here or are y'all all typing them in on each post!! I think I need to put one together. Can't remember all the meds I am on. Taking more pills than either of my parents and my 93 year-old grandmother!! hehe

I pee alot too now...I don't know if it's because ALL my plumbing is messed up or because I'm getting older.

Although, my husbands theory on my peeing alot is because my system has had to poop so much in a day for so many yrs now that it must have gotten screwed up because of that, you know, always dribbling even a bit of pee with every BM.
