A friend of mine sent me an email and said that he read an article about Crohn's and colitis in his local newspaper. It was written by a Dr. Peter Gott and he mentions this product. He is syndicated so I am sure that his articles appear in many papers. Anyway he stated that many readers saw improvement after taking it. It supposedly relieved pain and bloating and they could go back eating more healthfully after taking it.

Has anyone ever used or heard of Digestive Advantage Crohn’s & Colitis Therapy?

Yes, I've been using it for several months. I do believe that it makes a slight improvement. It definitely does help with the bloating and gas problem.  I buy it over the counter at Rite-Aid.
It can't possibly hurt and may help.

I haven't tried Digestive Advantage Crohn’s & Colitis Therapy, just the Digestive Advantage Lactose Intolerance Therapy. It works superbly for my milk allergy. I can actually drink milk daily now without getting diarrhea.

Yeah I take the Digestive Advantage Lactose Intolerance and it works well for that. I take another type of probiotic for my gut.
Been living with Crohn's Disease for 32 years.  Currently on Asacol, Prilosec 60 mg, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain and Calcium.  Resections in 2002 and 2005.  Recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and doing tests to see if I have Inflammatory Arthritis or AS.

I used to take Digestive Advantage. I really noticed a difference while taking it. It helped a lot with the big D. I'm on Remicade now, and don't have that problem, so I'm not taking it anymore. For awhile, though, I couldn't live without it!

Here's the ingredients in Digestive Advantage....

DIGESTIVE ADVANTAGE:

INGREDIENTS:
Di-pac, Mannitol, Ganeden Lactobacillusä Cultures, Lysine,
Stearic Acid, Flavor, FD&C Blue #1 Lake, Aspartame.

Personally I would NEVER take this stuff, especially for my IBD (and my IBS) considering that mannitol, which is a sugar alcohol can wreak havoc on us, and also note all the extra un-necessary ingredients in it, like the "flavor, FD&C Blue, #1 Lake, and the aspertame...all completely un-necessary and potentially bothersome for exacerbating IBS and IBD symptoms.

sorry, but with igredients like that it's more like "Digestive DIS-Advantage"

I use Primadophilus Reuteri made by Natures Way, google the ingredients in it, it only contains a small amount of potatoe starch for preservation, nothing eles, with the exception of the bacterial cultures of course. Big difference when you compare the 2 brands of probiotics...it's often probiotics like Digestive Advantage that cause initial gas and bloating for people, because of the un-necessary additives they put in their product.

Primadophilus reuteri also aids with lactose intolerance (which I no longer have since I take the PR daily), high cholesterol, and for women, vaginal health.

Primadophilus Reuteri by natures way isn't the only good one out there, Iflora and VSL3 and many others are also good.

Just my 2 cents :)
My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it!  LOL  :)

I have noticed a big difference when I use the flora- Q  probiotic and Primal Defense probiotic. Their is definately a change in how I feel when I do not take them.

I've never tried the Digestive Advantage before, but I do use pro-biotics and for me, it is the best thing I have ever used.  I went from having on average 10 BMs a day to once a day and sometimes once every other day.  It's wonderful!  No urgency, no bleeding, no pus, no cramping.  Plus I'm no longer horribly anemic.  My H&H are perfect for the first time in nearly 10 years.  I take Multi-Dophlius 12 made by Solaray.  I get it at a local health food store.  My GI doc is amazed at the difference and he has been treating me for over 20 years for my severe Crohn's.
