This is my first post. In May 2007, I had appendicitis. The surgeon said he had never seen anything like it. It was a granulomatous appendicitis. I guess it was the result of long term inflamation. It was huge and crohns likebut I was told crohns rarely starts at the appendix. I think I have always had it but its just getting worse with age. I have always had digestion trouble all my life. I felt better for a little while after surgery but now the pain is back only higher under my ribs. I have all the symptoms of crohns including bleeding. I've lost about
20 pounds in the last 10 months. I have been suffering from fatigue and depression for about
4 months now and I think its connected. I am now on antidepressants which is helping and my docter thinks I have granulomatous colitis or crohns colitis. I have a colonoscopy appointment on dec 28th. Has any one ever started out with it in there appendix? Is depression sometimes part of this disease? I'm not on any meds right now except antidepressant and I have been very sick latey. I will be 50 in February. In a way it's a relief to finally get to the bottom of my life of tummy troubles. I've never posted before so I hope I did it right.
Thank you, I'ts nice to know I'm not alone.
