the brat in me finally gave in and decided to see a naturopath. I figure after almost two years of being sick and hardly eating it couldn't hurt, eh? I am still waiting to hear about my bowel transit test and am so tired of all of this. I am afraid my upbeat facade may crumble tomorrow and I will just bawl through my whole 90 minute appt!
I will let you know how it goes. yp
48 y/o woman.  Diagnosed 4/06 after colonscopy, SBFT, CT-scan all showed crohns. 3 months later, after pred and remicade, all tests showed no crohns. In December had adhesions cut through a laparoscopy. Now just taking Glycolax, metamucil and vicidin as needed.

Hope you find some answers and peace soon, you have been thru the ringer lately. I forget, but have you ever done a capsule endoscopy? I am just wondering if maybe that might provide some answers for you. (((BIG HUGS)))

I did, Nanners, and it didn't show anything. I have never had anything come up in my small intestine and from what I understand, it doesn't show anything in the large, which appears to be where the problem, whatever it is, is.
I am trying to will my phone to ring to hear from one of my docs!
thanks, yp

I went the naturopathic route about two years ago, after all this had started and my test results were inconclusive. I tried all sorts of random crapola to try to help myself feel better. I got massages, kept food diaries, took amino acid supplements, got food allergy testing, etc.; I even saw a chiropractor, I was so desperate for help with my tum-tum! And, ta-da, here I am today, as garden-hose as ever! LOL! Sigh...still, you never know what will work for your guts, and checking out the road less traveled never hurt anyone (too terribly, anyway). Just be wary if they try to sell you a bunch of supplements! I will be curious to see how it goes. Hang in there, chica!

I am very skeptical, sarita, so I understand your post. I have done accupuncture, massage, herbs, chiro, even a medical intuitive (don't ask!) ...no help! and my joke about naturapaths is "they never tell people to stop eating brussel sprouts!" it is always coffee, milk, wine, the good stuff! so I am not too excited about this, but what the hell...I have done everything else and my insurance covers it :)

Thats great your insurance covers it!! I saw a medical psychic once too. I was very very impressed with her. She didn't tell me anything I didn't know but knew all my issues without me telling her. It was great.

You never know what might help YOU until YOU try it.

I used to be the biggest skeptic going when it came to the natural approach...well I don't go 30+ times a day with blood and mucus anymore thanks to the natural products I take it.

:)
My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it!  LOL  :)

i concur with pb4. it wasnt until i hit rock bottom and was facing ostomy surgery that i finally decided to give it a try. and i mean really give it a try and do what they said to the letter. none of the half assed stuff i would have done if i had tried this any time earlier in my life cos i didnt buy the hocus pocus. but now i do. you've go two of us saying it does work, to varying degrees of course, so hopefully knowing that it will give you inspiration to be diligent and dedicated to what the doc suggests. keep an open mind and think positive. good stuff can happen. it just sucks sometimes the way life goes for us to finally find the path we should have taken so many years ago.

best of luck!
