I had a major flareup and ended up in the hospital for two days last week. I also noticed that I broke out on my face at the same time. Then I realized that I've been breaking out with major sores whenever I'm in a lot of pain. Otherwise my skin is clear. I'm in my 30's and I'm not on prednisone (my GI doesn't believe in prescribing it, fine with me). Has anyone else noticed this? Is it stress-related or the CD?
diagnosed 11/06, solving the mystery of years of on/off abdominal pain. No more "it's just a virus". 33f with 2 boys, a lovable dog, and a wonderful husband. 150 mg Imuran, bowel resection 9/07, healing well and feeling well.

I was on the verge of a bad flare-up a couple weeks ago but was saved by my remicade infusion. However, as I was beginning to flare up, I broke out A LOT (and I'm already on acne medication). I have noticed a similar pattern, but as you pointed out, it could just be due from stress of an impending flare up.

However, I also have very bad skin issues, aside from acne, due the Crohn's (well, according to my GI. My dermatologist disagrees completely...hm). I developed sores on my arms and neck before Thanksgiving that still haven't cleared up, and this did align with my feelings of a flare up. I think some of us just get hit harder with the skin stuff than others.

Hope you're feeling better this week!
