Hey everyone! I have had two doses of Humira, and I haven't seen any improvement. If anything, I am getting worse. Bleeding more and going to the bathroom more. I am so discouraged, I really thought this would be the drug to put my disease into remission. I don't really have any other medication options, they have all been tried. Just looking for advice I guess, I don't really know what to expect. Merry Christmas guys!

I would say give it few more doses. I don't think humira works as fast as remicade.
Good Luck

I would concur- give it some time. I saw an improvement after 2-3 weeks and am continuing to improve slowly. hang in there.

Definitly give it time. I have been on it since mid september. Since I have an enterocutaneous fistula he said I probably would not see relief for at least 2 months. I had a colonoscopy on Thursday. I still have the fistula which we now know has to be fixed surgically but he can tell it was caused by CD. I also have a small ulcer which he can tell is healing and the rest of the area has now gotten better, he even said he would call me as being in remission thanks to the Humira.

Jellybean, I have been on Humira for about 3 months now (maybe a bit longer) and haven't had any improvement from it. When I started the Humira I was also taking 9mg Entocort daily, but my GI tapered me slowly down, after a month I went to 6mg Entocort, then to 3mg Entocort, then he wanted me to stop altogether. I was doing pretty good, feeling good until I went down to 3mg Entocort daily, which was about Thanksgiving timeframe. Then I began to get a lot of abdominal distention, more cramping, constant low grade fever, fatigue, sporadic vomiting...and these conditions have only gotten worse, the past 2 weeks have been horrible, awful contractions in abdomin which has to be an obstruction. Half of the time I can't stand up straight because the abdominal pain is so intense. I see my GI day after tomorrow.

I can relate to your frustration because I have tried everything also and hoped that Humira would be my saving grace...but it's not...Entocort seems to be the only RX which controls my inflammation. GI isn't crazy about me being on it though because of the long term side effects, including osteoporosis. But when I'm in pain and need relief I'm not thinking of the long term effects of Entocort, I just want the pain to go away.

So I increased my dosage back to 3x a day to try and help with this flare I'm having, plus I take hydrocodone for the pain too. It's awful, I hate this whole, ugly disease.
