I am a 23 year old female with CF living in the UK. I have been reading the messages posted on this sight for a while now before I plucked up the courage to join! It was so encouraging for me that other people go through the same emotions and feelings as I do about having CF. I think because we are generally encouraged not to 'mix' that sometimes you really feel isolated at times.
I was diagnosed with CF at a couple of months old and luckily kept quite well when I was growing up. I think it was to do with my stubborn nature and amount of sports I did! However, over the last few years since about 16 or 17 I have noticed a bit of a decline (I know this is what happens) although I do still keep fairly well. I think the treatment in the UK differs slightly to that of other parts. A lot of you guys talk about using a 'vest' of some type, which I have heard of but it is not so readily available in the uk yet. I am really keen to have a chat with anyone on the forum if anyone has any questions, or wants to let off some steam. Thanks guys! Hope to be chatting with you all soon!
