I can't shake this anymore. I've never felt so depressed than I do right now, and to be honest, if I dont get help I really think I might do something harmful to myself. I'm terrified of going into the hospital, but I don't know what else I can do. I literally drove myself insane. I'm sorry...I know I need help but I'm scared. How exactly does this process work? What should I do?

Hi BTE,

Please get to your doctor, don't be scared of going into hospital you need the help of caring people. Go and see your doc and let him/her take it from there.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you are, don't be alone when there are so many here for you.

I'll be thinking of you, Gillian x

When you get to the hospital, first thing is to be honest. Let them know that you are a afraid of harming yourself.
Once those words are out,you will be amazed on how fast the process will take, and how easy it will be to get help.

Be prepared for alot of questions, and again you have to be honest.

You will get through this, you just need to take this first important step. I hope you are ok...

Hi there Eyes,

I agree with gillian and shy, you need to talk to your doctor and soon. I know how it feels when you are so confused and you feel the only way to shake it off is with self harm, but please don't do that. You can fight that and eventually you will win that battle and the urges go away.

Please talk to your doctor and let us know how you are, we are here for you in the meantime, keep us posted

Luv and hugs,

I too agree with what has been said. Dont be afraid of going to a hospital unit as they will provide you with good care but it is important that you are honest with them so that they can give you the best possible help.

sometime i get scared even to go to therapy because i have this fear of crying. i do everything i can to avoid people from seeing me cry, whether its a joyous occasion, or especially a sad one. i just feel overwhelmed with embarrassment. i know its normal, but i just never like the thought of crying. so i always have these fearful feelings that one day im gonna start thinking about things and cry and people are going to see me.

btw ive been doing better in general. im excited to be back in school again. winter break was too long/depressing/boring.

thanks everyone

That is normal, but even if you have to run out of the room for awhile, you really need to let out the tears.

I am glad that you are excited to be back in school. You are a very strong person, and I know that you will make it!

Crying is healthy, it is cleansing. So let it out.
