this has been a last resort i guess for the time being
i was currently on medication for several years.
i cold turkey'd the medication just cuz i ended up in the hospital for trying to commit suicide
took 40+ zanex and woke up in the hospital
i was then off insurance for a bit and went on the free medication prog through the state.
i thought to my self why am i like this i never thought i would end up like this
i was looking really bad zombie like feeling etc from meds or something.
i went a while without meds then got sick due to the no meds feeling u all know what its like.
i now work under lots of stress at work and social anxiety
i think its getting worst and worst due to the fact its no medication i feel very sick
i get masive headaches sometimes.
im currently thinking of going back on meds maybe to try and fix my social anxitety
what do u guys think i should do?
should i go back on meds or just fix my depression by my self?
im not as sick as when i was on meds i kinda got off the meds

It sounds as if the medication had helped you....perhaps you and your doctor could try a different one that won't cause you to feel like a zombie and feel sick. I don't know how you would "fix the depression by yourself." By that, do you mean going to a therapist rather than taking medication? That could work, too, but if "by yourself" you literally mean by yourself, then I think it would fail and you would feel worse. That's just my 2 pennies. I say that because I have been depressed for many years and the thought of going it on my own would definitely not work for me. Perhaps you could try an SSRI rather than the anxiolytic medication you were taking.

Hi Bowlofweedies,
I am sorry you are going through all this. I have three advices for you.
Firstly, close the door of yesterday. Pathetic memory does no help to lead you out and besides it doesn't matter what it was in the past. As God implies, out history is only a sort of experience. The once sufferings suggests an easier way to a better situation. You just need to try a small step ahead and you can taste the flavors of improving albeit the pains still exist and sniff the aroma of conquer yourself.
Secondly, open a window of tomorrow. To learn your miserable states are caused by a definite disease which holds influence on your brain physically more than emotionally is vital. As an inference, you'd better return to meds and wait patiently until your mind is balanced.
Finally, hold steadfast to the belief that you will turn to normal someday! I am on my way home and so will you. Let's wait together!
Blissfully yours

I too think that you should go back on your meds until your head is clear enough to make a definate decision.  Why did you take so many xanax?  Never mind, I just reread your post and now I know.

As was said, I think that maybe you could try another medication without the zombie effect.  Go back to your doctor and ask for help.

Do you go to therapy?  Because it sounds like you need that to figure out why you were in such desparation.  A little cognitive therapy would really help you right now.

In the meantime keep us posted.

Hi Bowl

First of all welcome to the forum. I am sure you will find the support that you are looking for.
As everyone has said, get yourself back to the doctor asap.

And keep in mind meds take 4-6 weeks to take full effect,so give them some time. If you feel after that time they are not working then go back into the doctor. It is normal sometimes to have to try a few different meds to get the ones that work for you.

Also, therapy is something else you should think about. In order to deal with our depression we have to deal with what caused it in the first place... I am a firm believer that depression does not come out of no where..

Stay strong and keep us posted.
