Does anyone know how a person in Ohio, without Health Ins. can, well crap...do I have to go to a DR. to get a script for anti-depressants! I was prescribed Prozac in Fl - but moved , so I no longer have that doc, I was looking on line, can I just buy meds from on-line? If i can I really want to. I am seriously suffering from SEVERE depression, I just need a script, I don't really need a new Dr. that will cost me a $100- just to see me, and of course they'll want to do blood..etc. tests! I was looking at Effexor, thought I would start at the mid dose...it looks like I can get get it on-line, I gat paid tom. - some one...please, I know it may be dumb to just start my self on a drug w/out a pros opinion - but can I get some advise here? plz! help

I think you do have to have a doc prescription, but where did you have your prescrition filled? Was it at a national chain like Walgreens? Because they have a national database...

Thank you sooo much for replying! I moved to Ohio from Fl. a yr. ago- I was on Prozac from a Dr. there, I did go to Wal-greens the first couple scripts, but then started going to Wal-mart. I used my doc from there (FL) via faxes, but it was only a couple times, and I have had to go off the meds due to money, and no current Dr.- I have been medicating myself w/ alcohol, and I am at my wits end, I called to make an appt. w/ a Dr. I have never seen before, but I was so upset that I cant get in till, march 19th. I'll live, but I was sooo hoping to get in like nowish! I want to ask for Effexor. The receptionist says it will be a hundred bucks to see him, and then additions if he does anything, like - opens his mouth...she also spouted off 'bout blood test, ekg's....I know thats standard crap for a new patient, but I get pd. 7.25hr. And I just want a prescription for Effexor.....:(....if there were any walk in clinics here i would do that, but there arent and I think going to the Emerg. room is a little..much? I really do wish i could just walk in a place and get tthis specific help...any further advice....THANX a million, in advance!!

Does your Walgreens have a Minute Clinic in it? I don't know what they are really called, but it is a little 1-room place where you see a Dr. and get help. If not, then maybe a walk-in clinic?

hi Natalia,
its sun here well sorry about t mix up...I hope for you that you can get help for the alcohol problem because it makes the depression even worse in the
longrun.
Since I am not from the states I dont know if the link is any good. But I lived in oregon for 2 1/2 years a while back and I know how
bad it is to be without insurance. With all my problems I had to manage all the time I lived there without.
I went to the Uni hospital and they gave me reduced rates and a payment plan.. Mabye there is something similar in Ohio?
thinking of you,
get well and take care,
