I haven't been posting too often recently but I wanted to let everyone know I will probably be gone for awhile...

Our company announced about a month ago that they were filing chapter 11 bankruptcy but that everything would be okay. Well then corporate came by yesterday and told us that they were shutting down our center as well as two others in Iowa. That's hundreds of people out of jobs and in the town I live in, there really is NOTHING else except for factories, and most of these people aren't cut out for factory work.. I know I'm not.

So my boyfriend and I are moving back to Florida in two weeks which I'm really happy about, I am SO sick of the snow. I'm a little nervous about not having insurance and starting from scratch everywhere, but that's life. I don't really have any friends here anyway so there's not much to leave behind and at least in Florida I have my family.

I'm just so sad for all of my coworkers; there were a few people crying yesterday and I know they were all upset about it. They only have till the end of this month too, but I guess at least they'll get unemployment for awhile. I've been boxing stuff up all morning and it's been really sad, everyone's just kind of watching me from their cubicles with gloomy expressions.

Hi Ediekristen,

It is so sad when a business folds, but we are seeing more and more of it daily. I sure hope that the economy gets better soon. This is an election year and sometimes things get better during that time.

I am happy though that you will be able to go to Florida and be close to your family.

You are in my thoughts, I hope that this works out good for you. Congratulations for being able to get away from the cold.

Send some sunshine our way.LOL

Hugs, Karen
