Hi Jenny,
Hope this helps

GENERIC NAME: sertraline

BRAND NAME: Serimel, Lustral, Lusert, DEPREGER, Serlan, Sertraniche

SSRI(selective serotonine reuptake inhibitor) blocks the reuptake of serotonine in brain neurons. Restoring the balance between different chemicals in the brain.

anti-depressant, depressive illness with anxiety, as well as for obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder and post traumatic stress.

How long do you take them for?
Take as long as it is prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop without consulting your doctor.

When does the effect show or when is it noticeable?
It will take a few weeks until optimal effect is reached, after that it will work for 1-2 days after the last dose.
It will improve your well feeling, give a better mood, and more energy.

What are the side effects if any?
troubled sleeping, concentration problems, skin reactions (itch, rash), nausea, dry-mouth, anxiety nervousness,
changes of taste, restlessness, sweating, impotence and an effect on the platelet function (prolonged bleeding). If you encounter an adverse
reaction contact your doctor or pharmacist.

How do you take them?
In a single dose, most of the time it is advised to take it in the morning with some food.

Can I take this if I am Pregnant, want to conceive or if Iam breast feeding?
The use is not recommended during pregnancy. Only if clearly needed discuss the use with your doctor. Avoid breast-feeding while using
sertraline, little of the drug is found in the breast milk and may have adverse effect on the baby.

Lifestyle:
Although you might not avoid having to take this kind of medication, try to have some quality time to relax and exercise.

I take abilify which sounds similar, it works well with obsessive thinking. I think it has the same stimulating effect, I seem to have a lot more energy.

Though they might not be similar at all, they sound somewhat the same.
