Hi, I usually don't post on this site. My husband is bipolar and I sometimes post on there. He has been through a rough time the past few days and has felt better yeaterday. However, I am very depressed now. For the past 3 days all I can do is cry. I take effexor only because I had a hysterectomy 3 yrs ago and then breast cancer the following year and the doc put me on the effexor because I can't take HRT anymore. I just need to talk to someone, my husband's family would rather deny he has bipolar so I am his only support . My family is great but my parents are older and I try and not worry them. If anyone has a situation similar and would like to answer this post ,please do so.

Hi Stressed

So sorry for everything that you have been through..you are going to be amazed on how many people understand here.

My son is bipolar,he has it under control right now,but believe me we went through hell for many many years.

I think that you should go back to the doctor, and let him know what is going on. It could very well be that your med dosage needs to be changed.

My personal opinion is that is normal, our bodies get used to the dosages so then it seems it is not as effective as it was before.

Also, are you in any type of therapy? you have been though so much, and they can also help you with methods on dealing with your husband.

Stay strong!

I coompletely agree with Shy. I think that it would be good for you to get some help dealing with your hb's bipolar issues. It isn't easy for anybody to live with that. I am sure that you have been through a lot.

I would also like to welcome you to the depression forum. You will find a lot of caring and compassionate people here who are always ready to listen

hugs, Karen
