I just joined this forum today to see if anyone else has the side effect I do from cymbalta-I am extremely tired and want to sleep all the time. Nothing seems to help(caffeine, hoodia, green tea). Any one else suffer like this or have suggetions?
P.S. Other than that, I love cymbalta. I just think my quality of life could be better if I did not feel so drained.

Hi there Leo and welcome to HealingWell

I have never used cymbalta myself but I know that it is a popular med amongst many people and that there are a lot of people on this forum who have used it or still use it themselves. I hope you enjoy being part of our family and that we can offer you all the help and support you need.

I look forward to hearing more from you

Darren

Hi Leo

I too wanted to welcome you to the forum.

I would contact your doctor and talk to them about the med. Sometimes they need to change dosages or meds all together.

I know alot of depression meds make us tired, but there are other's out there that don't.

Thank you for your responses.  I have tried other antidepressants(Zoloft, Celexa, Welbutrin) and have found cymbalta to be the best.  Just tired of being tired.  Does remeron work on both serotonin and norepenephrin(sp) as well? Does anyone get tired form it? I have discussed this with doctor and she recommended taking ritalin to combat it.  It caesed a terrible headache at end of day. I don't want to rely on that if taking another drug like remeron would be better.

Thanks again

Hi Leo,

I would take your doctor up on the ritalin. It is a type of stimulant and would combat the tiredness from the remeron. I took remeron and it made me very sleepy so I stopped. But if it is helping you, I would take the ritalin too. I thinkt that you would like it. It does give you energy. So give it a try.

Good luck,

Hi Karen,

Thanks for your imput. Actually, it is cymbalta that makes me tired and I was questioning the side effects of remeron.  You so it made you so tired, you stopped.  Does it affect both serotonin and norenephrine?

Thanks again

I looked in my pill book and it doesnt' say if it effects both seratonin and norenephrine. But I would highly suggest you try the ritalin. I know that it will counteract the sleepiness.

Good luck,
