I really hate this time of year, pop up storms, rain, grey clouds, hurricanes. I cant stand it. I like to be able to enjoy the ouside. I hate not being able to go out and do things because its raining. That really doesnt help with depression. eyes
My mom and I have been fighting more lately than ever before. We argue 24-7 and normally I would hit something(which I already did), write about it(which I am doing), and then I would go for a walk(which I cant do because its raining). devil
So, how does the weather affect you? And your depression?

Boy, does the weather affect me. Sunshine and blue skies do me so much good, I will just walk in the garden, watch the fishes, and feel in total peace with everything.

It was funny, when my depression was at its worst, it was cold, rainy, cloudy etc. The moment I finally got out, the sun started to shine and we got two weeks of perfect blue skies, which is pretty rare around here. And although that probably was coincedence, the weather does have a huge impact on my moods.

But don't hate the time of the year, storms can be fun also. Just to go outside and struggle to get forward when riding a bike, battling against the wind. I love that too.

I hope the sun will shine a bit more brighter for you,

Hi there, and yes I think weather can cause many people to feel depressed, especially when you are shut indoors.  A summer rain is good, it makes everything smell fresh.

There are lots of songs about rain,  " I Love a Rainy Day" , Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head", "Baby the Rain Must Fall", "November Rain", "Singing in the Rain" and my favorite, "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?" by CCR

Take an unbrella and go out in a nice rain and splash in the is sure to make you smile. Sending you lots of warm hugs and keep on posting.

I've never had a clinical diagnosis of depression but I do know what being depressed is like, and how easily weather can swing moods.

I actually found comfort in rainy/overcast days. I use them as a way to catch up on myself. A personal inventory day, so to speak. When it carries on for a few day I start using the time to do house work and projects I've been wanting to do.

I love the winters, but I have a hard time with the cold misty days. If it would only snow...I could make a snow fort with the kids, or go sledding.

I always force myself to try to see the up side of situations, sometimes it works others....well, inflection never hurts.

I to sometimes take comfort in the cloudy grey skys even the rain, especially when we have real hot days, and it has been hot here in the south, but even I get tired of the rain epscecially in the winter. winter and fall really only times i get to go out side and walk around with out feeling to hot. Heat doesnt agree with me. even now in poool season, I have to wait for an over cast day to get in the pool, the sun directly hurts my eyes(blue) it seems to bother blue eyed people more, and it gives me a headache. My family calls me morticia from the adams family, cuz I will swimm in the rain in the summer LOL!!
