Hi all,

Usually I'm posting over on the CD forum but I find myself over here with a script for an anti-depressant.  It seems that 14 years of CD has finally taken it's mental toll on me to where I need some help.

My GI wrote me a script for Lexapro 6 weeks ago that I've filled but haven't started (mostly because I feel that by starting an anti-depressant, I'm admitting defeat and that is extremely hard).

Any experiences would be helpful good, bad or otherwise.  I've already pulled everything I can from the medical related sites on the web but I like to hear personal experiences.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

I have never taken Lexapro myself so I cant help with that side of things but there are plenty of people on HW that have tried (Or are taking Lexapro) who can help)

As for admitting defeat... If you admit defeat it means you are in a competition with something. Try thinking of your mental health as a river which flows. Occasionally, you will find rocks and other obsticles in your path but (As water always does) you will get round them and carry on flowing. Depression isnt the end of your river, simply a rock for you to go round.

I hope that makes sense (If it doesnt, let me know!)
