I just do't see the point of life.  most people are stressed or depressed.  running around just trying to survive.  I am depressed I know.  I get no joy out of anything I did .  I may have a passing moment whee I am not anxious or sad but I really am never free of this sense of dread.  At first i thought I was crazy but now maybe it is almost mornal to have this reaction.  I think about another 40 years at least--my family lives forever and I just wonder what is the point.   I am Christian and though I know it is wrong I just want to be in heaven and not deal .   I will deal I have 3 wonderful kids that I love and want the best for but I see the world going down the tubes I worry what will the world be like for them in 10 years.

Hi Pain

Your children are your point. Think of their futures, who they are to become and what they are going to give you throughout your life.

I am sorry that you are feeling so down, and I think at some point we all wonder what we are doing.
But,you do have 3 great kids that will make it worthwhile.

I really think that you need to go to the doctor and try to find out what is going on with you...

Heej,

It took me 18 years to find the purpose of life. Fact just is, you are here. There isn't a real reason why you are here, but you are. You are because two humans mixed there chromosomes. As an atheist, I believe there isn't an entity that put you here. You just are.

So you can say the purpose of life is that there isn't a purpose. That can be pretty hard to accept. However, accepting it will result in you having no obligations to anything, or anyone. You can live life the way YOU want it. This statement can be interpreted in a negative sense, but negativity is resistance to something unchangeable.

Accepting the is'ness of life, without looking for a purpose, may grant you a life without negativity. Of course, it isn't simple to achieve, but acceptance will help you get closer to it.

I found out that a purpose or a problem or being proud, things like that, are bound to time. Without time, problems and negativity can't exist. If you don't agree, please give me an example. You will see that problems can't exist without time. Same as purpose, why need a purpose if you are here anyway?

You are.
I am.
Nothing more.
Erik

I think Shy has made a great point. Your reason for being at the moment is to love and nurture your beautiful children and help them to grow up to be strong, happy and successful. Sometimes the reason for life is a mystery many of us, but when you find it you will know.

Everyone has a guardian angel. They help pick you up when you fall, comfort you through your times of need and help you appreciate the times when things are going well.

Eej,

No offense taken. I know the things I say might sound really weird to some, but things like this helped me to get out. Please don't feel bad if it sounded selfish, I didn't meant that, and it would be a shame if you would feel bad about that.

I am sorry.

I can't comfort you in anyway as Shy and Daz can, since that is something I will never understand, but I wish you all the best, and if you someday want an explanation of the stuff I wrote down, feel free to ask.

Erik
