All of us suffering from depression sometimes do not realize what our illness does to those close to us.  I recently came across a book for children called "Why Is Mommy Crying?"  It doesn't try to explain the clinical part of depression but does try to answer some questions children might ask about someone close to them who is sad and cries alot.  It is definitely worth looking into.  I thought it was well done.  Check it out and let me know what you think!

i think it's pretty interesting and a good idea to do that. its obvious that kids don't really understand, but this book is an excellent idea!

Thank you so much for bringing this information to the forum.  It is very important to remember the children and help them through a family with depression issues.

Bless you
Kitt
