Hello,

I'm new here. I have been looking for someone to talk to for a while. I have a wonderful husband, but he is so busy and stressed with his own issues most of the time, i don't feel comfortable talking to him about my issues. I feel down most of the time. I don't feel like I'm being a good wife, let alone a good enough mother to my two year old son. I just don't feel good enough. Some days are better than others, but lately things have been going down hill, probably because I don't have the usual distractions I could find at home to cover up with.

Just looking for some advice on how to bring myself out of this funk. Worn and weary....

Hi There D35,

Welcome to HealingWell. I think that you will find that you have come to a good place. Everybody here is so kind and compassionate. They are very understanding and always ready to try and give some good advice.

You have taken your first step by coming here. I think that this will help you to find yourself again.

First of all, have you seen your doctor lately? You might do well with a type of antidepressant or some counseling. Counseling is good because you are doing something for yourself. And you say that you don't want to burden your husband, that might be a way of getting some of this off of your shoulders.

Have you tried taking walks with your two year old? That is another way to relieve some stress. The endorphins get going and it gives you energy and a clear head.

Other than that, I wish for you a wonderful day. Keep posting,

Hugs, ...Karen

D35,

Welcome to HealingWell and the Dpression Forum.  I am Kitt and I look forward to getting to know you better.

When your fears have the best of you, it is easy to feel that things will not get any better. This is not true. There is much help available in today’s society and the best way to deal with your fears is to find effective ways to overcome them. Instead of focusing on doom, stay in the moment. Give yourself breathing space. Consider what matters to you. Establish a few manageable goals, then take small steps toward achieving them. Don’t try to stop everything as once as you may be setting yourself up for failure.

Please know coming here is a wonderful and courageous step. You are voicing your fears so you know what they are.

Do seek out your physician to help you. We are all here supporting you and if you fall we will pick you up my friend.

Gentle Hugs
Kitt

Thank you so much for responding. I will your advice to heart and continue to try to look up. I was on an antidepressant before I moved. It seemed to work well for me. Since I'm new here, I have yet to go to a doctor. I have looked; only half-heartedly. Now, is the time for me to take control back and do something again to help me.

I have found that taking walks with my son and dogs does help; sometimes running with them. I have gotten back into taking long baths on the weekend too as a getaway.

I feel I did find a good thing here. I will continue to come back.

Thank you both very much.

I am happy to hear that your going to "take control" and remember no man is a island so do come here and let us help you.

You may want to check around and find yourself a good physician so you can become an established patient. wink

Keep posting.

Hugs
Kitt
