ilovegrowing I am so sorry that you are in such a bad place at this time. All of us feel this way at times but you can not just snap out of it you have to work on it.I am sure that if you ask your loved ones if you are any use to them thay will tell you that you are.I think for most of are loved ones it hard for them to beleave that we even have this thought. When I told my husband that I felt this way he asked me how I could ever have felt that way.Any way I hope that you feel better the next time you log on.I am sending you a big ((((((HUG)))))).

Heej Ilove,

Welcome to HW!
I can understand how you feel, and I found that there isn't a simple "knob" to turn. But let me tell you you aren't useless, no one is ever useless, everyone is perfect in their own way. I am absolutely certain there are plenty of things you are good at, it is just easier to neglect those and only see the things you aren't good at. I had plenty of things I was (and still am) really good at, but I felt the things I lacked were the ones that would make me happy. I felt I was good at everything I wanted, but awful and the things I needed. Of course, that ain't true, and it took a while to realize that, but now I do.

Maybe you could write down for yourself, or here on the forum, the things you just can't seem to get right, and also the things you actually are good at. Writing this down can give you a clearer picture of what is going on, what things are letting you feel bad. A major step in getting better is to be aware of the causes.

I hope to hear from you again!
Erik

I am so sorry you are feeling so bad.  I feel you need some help building up your self esteem.  You are not useless, you are a good person and perhaps therapy would help you learn how to love yourself.

Keep coming here and talking to us.

You are definitely NOT alone with your feelings. Living life in slow motion is a terrible way to live, but I do believe this is temporary. Hang in there! I will watch for your posts.

Your new friend,
Linda
