pdoc determined that the celexa was no good for me. i got really bad tremors and shakes and also vivid dreams from the trazodone. he gave me a script for mirtazapine, which is generic Remeron. I am glad it is not another SSRI. Does anybody have any experience with it? Love to hear from ya.

Thanks and Happy Friday (atleast here in the US)

Hi Eli,

I took remeron years ago, but it made me too sleepy. I have heard a lot of good things about it on the forum though.

Good luck with the remeron.

Hi Eli,  I'm not sure if you are the one I answered before about Remeron but I have been taking it for at least 6 yrs.  I tried many other a/d meds that just didn't work but the remeron was the charm.  I started slow with 15 mg,then 30 then 45.  My dr. has now tapered me down to 30 mg but to tell the truth I didn't notice the difference from the 45 mg.  Except, my appetite decreased.  The only other side effect I had at first was feeling sleepy when I took it so take it at bedtime.  Eventually the drowsiness disappeared and you wouldn't know I was taking anything.  It was a life saver for my depression.  So if my experience is typical you should do very well on it.  Just have your dr. start you out slowly and gradually work up to the theraputic dose which would 45 mg. I wish you luck with it and do post and let me know how things are going.

i am on 15mg to be taken at night, and then ill see him on the 25th. told him about all my symptoms from the celexa, got too anxious and restless. i was just looking online and have found that most people get relief from it, but don't like the weight gain. im 5'5" and at 106 lbs so i need to gain a little weight anyway. lets cross our fingers guys im so ready to kick this whole depression thing to the curb!
