Heej Kitt!

I hope you are doing ok as well! One of my motto's is of course the one in my signature: "The world is but a reflection of the way you look at it. Smile, and the world will smile back".

But I have another one, one that is way older. It is: "Why not?". In a lot of cases, I have a positive approach, like for instance "can you climb that tree?". Some of us will immediately say No, because they seek for a reason to be able to. I say Yes, unless I can see a reason why I am NOT able to. The result is that I can do loads of things, from carpeting to making music to be good at most sports etc. I think this has to due to the simple fact that I am looking for reasons why I can't, instead of why I can.

Ow, and that motto is also used in my nickname :-). Why not translated in Dutch is: "Nou, waarom niet?", which can be abbreviated as nwn. Pronounced in English that is en-double-you-en, which sounds lame, so I decided to use the Dutch pronunciation of "w", which is "way". So it ended up as enwayen. For those who always wondered where that name came from.

Have a wonderful day!
Erik

P.S: Kitt, what would be your motto??

Hi Kitt,

And thank you for posting this.

My motto would be "One day at a time". That is the only thing that works for me. I use to be such a worryier. So this helps. I actually got this from having fibromyalgia, because I never knew if I would even make it out of bed the next day. It actually helped me to stop dwelling on the past or worrying about the future.

Hugs, Karen

Christi, luckily you aren't so forgetful :-) Now I am sure you will remember it for the rest of your life!

Karen, awesome motto. You have probably heard about the old monk that walk barefooted across the Himalayas. When they, in total astonishment, asked him how he did that, he replied: "One step at a time".

And Kitt, thank you for sharing yours! I agree with that.

Whenever I was having a bad day my Grandmother used to say to me "Don't worry tomorrow will be a better day."  I have tried to adopt that as my motto. Not always the case but it is a positive thought to keep in mind.

Mine is right at my signature too, to be or not to be. the way I understand it, I have to make a choice that I want to exist in this life, or not and even though most of the time I don't feel like it but truly inside me I know I want to exist and be the best I can be in this life, who doesn't?

Mom,

That is all that we can do, I use to and still do go by your motto. I know that as long as I am trying, things will work out. That is all that anyone can do.
