I haven't taken it but a friend of mine has and has had good results with it. I hope that it works well for you.

How have you been doing? The last time that you posted, you sounded really good, I hope that you are continuing to feel good.

I took it 3 years ago and I did not notice any side effects.  I was able to function and go to work daily.

im doing quite well actually. had a 30 minute episode yesterday, but the whole week ive been going out (gasp!) and running errands like a 'normal' person. i got too tired yesterday and forgot to eat on time hence the episode. other than that the zyprexa at 20 mg is helping me be stable. i also can take more zyprexa PRN, when the stress level is high. timing is essential with my meds, if i take it too late it triggers an episode, so its trial and error. i take the Z at 4 pm, it makes me sleep at about 9ish.

my pdoc is so nice and he really has my best interests in mind.

also, the DBSA support groups have really helped a lot. its like a face to face HW, and helps with the loneliness and isolation. I totally recommend it to anyone who has depression or BP.

Have i told you that my pdoc changed my dx to BPII?

Eli,

It is wonderful to hear how good you are doing. LIke you say, it is all kinds of trial and error. But it looks like you are going in the right direction.

Best wishes to you Eli,

I'm visiting from the chronic pain board. I took Lexapro a couple years ago & it worked well for me for about a year, and then it stopped working. I was off antidepressants for several months, but started up this fall on Lexapro again. Unfortunately, it hasn't helped me at all this time around, so I am beginning to taper off of it. Both times I took it I did not have any side effects. Good luck.

I took it for about a year or so and don't recall any side effects. It worked ok for awhile and then as skeye mentioned, stopped working and it was on to a new med. Best of luck to you...hope it works for you and that you don't have any side effects.
