Heeja!

Right now I am listening to the Top2000, a Dutch radio program that will play the most voted for 2000 songs. A lot of people listen and vote for this, so it is a pretty accurate list of what we Dutchies think are the best songs. The top spot is, as always, for Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. As the rebel I am, I disagree. I think the top spot should be reserved for nothing less than Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd.

So what song would you vote for as Best Song in a popular radio list? (This means it has to be an (ex-)hit).

Happy Holidays!
Erik

I like Money, by Pink Floyd. Erik, thank you for doing the roll call. I have a bug that I just can't shake and feel like, well, you know.

I always did like Money...LOL...

I have an album by Pink Floyd called Umaguma. Not too many people have heard of it. It is really cool. Have you ever heard of it?

It has a song on it called something like "a bunch of small furry animals gathered together in the woods groovin with a pict".

Heej Karen,

I have heard OF it, unfortunately I have not heard the album itself. Is it good?

If you like Pink Floyd, just today I found some similar sounding artists, they are from Poland I think and are called Riverside. Awesome music!

And Karen, you are stronger than the bug!

Take care,
Erik

I might be stronger than this bug, but since I caught the little devil, I can't get rid of him. LOL...

I am glad that you have heard that song. I am going to dig out that vinyl album and listen to it again. A lot of people think I am fibbing when I talk about it. It must have been a really early one. I will look at the copyright.

Take care, thanks again for doing roll call. If you have a topic that you can think of tomorrow too, I would appreciate it. No pressure though.

Hugs, Karen

Hey Erik,

Coming from Liverpool for me it would absolutely have to be the Beatles. So I will go with Yesterday!

Oh, I LOVE Wish You Were Here! That has to be one of their best songs. I also really enjoy Shine On You Crazy Diamond, particularly the extended instrumental opening to it. Just beautiful.

It's hard for me to pick a favorite song. There are just so many great artists, past and present (though not so much recent). But since my favorite band is Radiohead, I'll have to say perhaps my favorite by them would be The Pyramid Song.
