Hi all please help me to get ride off this trouble.
My date of period was 7th approx. of every month, but this month I failed my period and on 12/12/2008 I have got chicken pox, I have done the Urine pregenancy test was positive but since I was suffered from chicken pox I have not taken any abortion pill, now after the complete cure of chicken pox I have taken  Mifepristone on 1 Jan 2009 and  after passing one day i have not got any bleeding hence I went to a doctor on 3 Jan 2009 he adviced that its about 8 weeks hence the medicine will not work and hence I appointed the Surgerical abortion for today morning but at around 3:30 AM I have got severe bleeding with clots and stomach ache, back pain, dessiness, shivering etc.
so i reconcerned the doctor he told me that i have to go through the surgerical abortion yet else it will be the incomplete abortion, hence I decided that the doctor is trying to cheat me and I have started taking Misoprostal from today's eve as I have read while googling that it can be taken in 72 hrs after having Mifepristone.
Now please suggest me that if I need to test that my mediacl abortion is complete or not what i can do. Since the doctor says that abortion pill do not works after 40 days of preganancy period. My bledding was severe in the morning and now it is in control manner same as it happens in periods. Is it possible in my case that abortion could be incomplete? Please suggest as the above words of my consulted doctor has worried me a lot.

With great wishes and thanks to all the helping hands.

It looks like all you can do is wait and see if the abortion pill worked. I hope that it did.

I am not familiar with these processes. I hope that somebody comes along that can help you more. For your sake I hope that it worked so that you don't have to have a surgical abortion.

Best wishes and I hope that you feel better.

Unfortunately the only way to know if a medical abortion worked is by physical exam, and in all honesty the abortion pill has a significant fail rate at any point in time, so many women do have to get surgerical abortion.

I don't know what the answer is to this problem but this is your health you are talking about. I don't think the dr. is trying to cheat you.  I think he is trying to protect you from further problems and complications.  I wouldn't wait any longer. You need to see a dr. right away to be sure the abortion is complete.  Otherwise you risk problems which could lead to infection and infertility.

pooja,

I am sorry this has all gotten so mixed up for you but I do have to agree you need to be under the care of a physician. Trying to dx yourself is dangerous. an incomplete abortion can cause you the very sx you have mentioned.

Different hormones leave the body at different rates. Within a few days after the procedure, most of the hormones have dropped down to a level to where women start to feel "normal" again, but they're not completely down to their pre-pregnant levels. The hormone, human chorionic gondotropin (hCG), which is the hormone that pregnancy tests look for takes quite a while to completely leave the body. Pregnancy tests can be positive up to 8 weeks after the procedure. This is why you shouldn't take a drugstore pregnancy test soon after the procedure. It will be positive, and it'll just make you worry unnecessarily. At your post-abortion check-up (2-3 weeks after the procedure) your physician will use a low-sensitivity test, which should be negative at that point.

For your own safety, see the physician and be sure you are OK.  I do not believe he is trying to rip you off or gave you bad info.

Get yourself an OB/GYN if you don't trust this doctor.

Take care and let us know your ok.

Ggrrrrrr!!!! I keep seeing this and it's bothering me! It's not a "medical" abortion, it's a MEDICATION ABORTION. They're all medical aren't they? Lol

Pooja,

You need a doctor, go to one and get this cleared up before you end up going in an ambulance.
