Good Tuesday Morning to all of you,

I have been thinking, I have a problem with getting spiffed up before I go anywhere, I use to wear makeup and do my hair.  Pick out cool clothes to wear.  But these days I just don't care anymore.  I don't know if it is fibromyalgia, depression or just my age.

What I was wondering, are you satisfied with your appearance, and if not, is there anything that you feel you could do to change that?

Let me know, and if you have any tips on doing a better job with appearance, let me know that too, I could use some tips.

Hugs, Karen

I guess it has been a habit for so long but I never leave the house without makeup or doing my hair.  I especailly need to do my hair because I have pillow hair ( hair that is a mess) in the morning when I wake up.  I keep my makeup fairly simple but I do use eyeliner and mascara.  I fix my hair by setting it with an electric curler set.  Just leavr the curlers in for a few minutes and then style it.  The electric curlers make it very easy. Or you could use a curling iron but I am not very good with one. I have my makeup routine down to about 7 min to apply to I don't spend a lot of time.  I never know who I will run into and people are so gossipy here that  they would talk about me if I didn't look myself.

Good Morning,

After working for 26 years and putting on my make up everyday I decided to give my skin a break and only put on make up if I am headed out somewhere.  I do have a problem with letting my hairdo go as I am not going anywhere and I know I feel better if my hair is freshly washed and blow dried.

I think some of the time it is just the depression that kicks me into the why bother..............

Getting out more now I am getting up earlier and doing my hair daily again except on the weekends.

Kitt

The main part of my appearance that bothers me is that I wish I was more "toned". I'm not one of those girls that is overly skinny and says "Oh I'm so fat", because I know I'm scrawny but I just wish I was more fit and had a victoria's secret model body, hahah. But who doesn't! I just haven't been able to exercise lately because any sort of movement that jumbles up my insides has been causing me a lot of pain, and it's hard to get into yoga when you're running to the bathroom between every pose!

I always, always wear makeup though, even to just run to the gas station. I mean, I don't wear foundation or powder or anything (it makes my face super oily) but I put on eyeliner, shadow, and mascara. When I don't wear makeup I look almost as sick as a I feel, so at least if I put some on I don't have people asking me all day what's wrong.

I am uber vain tbh, so I never go out without make up, but I have this obsession with my hair, I have awful hair, it's like a bit frizzy, so I straighten it obsessively. and if it gets a kink it in while I'm out I just can't rest!! Ha ha!! I buy a lot of clothes too & generally do spend quite a lot of time on my appearance, like false tan, getting my nails done, eyebrows waxed etc! I think I am a bit self obsessed! ha!

even through depression I always make sure I get myself ready if I go out and I always spend a lot of time in front of the mirror! I got contact lenses last year but before that I would never wear my glasses when I went out since about the age of 10/11!

I wear glasses, I just never could get myself to wear contacts. I can't put anything in my eyes. I tried them and liked them. But couldn't stand putting them in and taking them out. I would probably love them if I wasn't so chicken.

I'm with you Karen, eyeball stuff freaks me out and I know I wouldn't be able to stand them. Plus I've heard too many horror stories about getting the wrong kind of contacts and having corneal abrasions and stuff, so I'm just gonna stick with my glasses!
