I'm waiting for either a call or visit from the landlord to evict us. I did this to us. It's like I'm stuck in hardening cement and can't get anything done. There's been a series of really bad things happen. One of them is that the person I could always go to is dead. I have no one to turn to now. Nobody else knows how bad things are.
I don't see anyway out of this. I've thought and thought and thought and I can't see anything to do. We'll get evicted. Our dogs will have to be put down. My son will have to change schools. He's had to deal with so man bad things the last few years, and is now doing really good and is really happy in school. He has no idea this is how bad things are.
I don't think my children will ever be able to forgive me for this. I sicken myself. I am the worse person in the world. I brought this all on myself. I deserve this, but my kids don't. I don't know what to do or who to go to for help.

Sorry for everything you're going through. I'm having a tough time myself. Can you take your dogs to a no-kill shelter? I just saw on the news tonight that my local no-kill shelter has taken to signing up foster families. I'm thinking about seeing what kinds of pets they have. I would love to give it a trial run to see if I'm pet-compatible. :) At least it's something to consider.

Try to start looking into finding a shelter. Has your landlord filed a petition with the sheriff to evict you? He can't just do it himself, I'm pretty positive. At least that could maybe buy you a little more time. Call all the churches, synagogues & mosques in your neighborhood. Call Red Cross & Salvation Army (regardless of whether there's one near you) and ask for help. Call Covenant House (1-800-999-9999). They are open 24/7 and can help you find shelter for you & your boys.

Honestly, your boys may very likely be upset for a while. Perhaps even for a few years, but I used to teach & I have yet to run across a child who didn't get over having to live in a shelter for a while, regardless of the reason why. We all make mistakes & sometimes get really overwhelmed by everything and become paralyzed. The important thing is that you realize it now & can start working towards a better future beginning today. It will take time. Perhaps a lot of time, but things will get better.

Once you get a place to live, ask the shelter workers to help you find some free counseling. A lot of places can identify resources to either get you free help or get you money to get help. Many counselors work on a sliding scale so explain your situation and see what can be done so you can deal with your depression. I'm pulling for you!

I know that I posted on this, but don't know where it went. I must of forgotten to press submit.

But I would check with human resources to see if they can help you. They often help with house payments and give you food stamps, plus adc. I would check that out if I were you.

I can't remember all that I wrote, but don't blame yourself, these things are happening all over.

I wish you the best of luck, I am praying for you and your family.

Keep us posted.

Hugs, Karen
