Hi, I'm new here and this is my first time asking for help kinda...I have always been kinda nervous asking for help...But anyways I guess I should say some background of myself if anyone really cares I guess? Um...well I don't honestly know what to say now that I can actually say something without (hopefully) getting criticized. I've had some problems in my life like everybody...I mean I know depression is a common thing now-a-days...especially with this growing "emo" fad that is completely ridicules. But anyways...I guess I just want everyone to know that I am not one of those...emo people. Um...but I guess the whole point of this post is to vent a bit, if that's okay, I don't even really care if people read this or not, I don't really care about a lot of things anymore. I'm lucky that I have my boyfriend though, he's always been by my side, but sometimes I can't talk to him because he'll just get sad too. I've had a number of things happen to me...death, disorders, depression is always the major link to it all...I don't want it to be..I guess I'm here to get rid of the impossible...I don't really believe depression can be cured. Even when you think you're entire life is turning towards the right direction something eds up happening to push you back to square one and then put thick bars around the box you once thought you were getting out of...if that makes any sense. Funny...I don't even really remember what my point of starting this post was, I guess I could have written this anywhere and it would have gotten lost with the thousands of posts on here...I guess I'm just asking for help, seeing if someone might actually be there when I am in need to some venting, or if I'm just being really selfish right now...

Welcome to the site . I am new here too , and can tell you that you are not alone with the way you feel. I am not the depressed person but married to one and it has been real hard on this end too. The one thing I can say is that there is a lot of caring people on this forum and and they truly care about what you are going through. So dont be afraid because you are one of many . If you are not getting any proffessional help dont be afraid because will help. It is nothing to be ashamed of and Im sure you will get a lot of support from other people on this forum.

Hello and Welcome to HealingWell and the Depression forum.  I am much older then you as I am not sure what the "emo" thing is?  Help me out here and tell me what your referring to.

Depression is a real disorder and most people can live with it with the help of therapy, medications or alternative  approaches.  Does it go way?  For some people it will go away for years and then come back.  For others it is a part of their life like diabetes or asthma and they learn how to live with it.

From the sound of your post your trust level is very low.........I understand this as trust is putting yourself out there and you never know when someone you trusted will turn on you or leave you but you still have to keep trying.

Do you have a counselor? I think it might be good for you to have a check up by your PCP to make sure you do not have any medical issues and then take it from there.

Do keep posting as there are many wonderful members here and they do read the posts and care about all the members.

Gentle Hugs

Kitt

It never hurts to post here. None of us will judge you or criticize what you have to say. Feel free to vent what you're really thinking. Don't censor yourself for us. Sometimes it helps to get things out of your head.

I know how frustrating it is to deal with depression, but there are resources out there to help. It's hard to ask for help sometimes, but it can get you to a better place.

I hope you find some help, and things get better for you.

Yeah...no ounselors for me, last time I went to one they threw me in the mental place, and other then that...I don't have any money literally. The "emo" scene is a bunch of idiots who try to get attention from self-mutilation, they try very hard to look depressed and they whine and complain a lot...but they get there attention and that's why the phase is so popular.

Sweetie,

I think that you still need emotional support. You are not like the other people and there are counselors capable of helping you. There are free programs that can help you too through mental health. And I don't think they are going to hospitalize you unless you really need it.

Either way with whatever decision you make, please stay with us and let us know how you are doing. Try checking out the 'mood gym' and see it that can help you. It is absolutely free. And I believe that it is something that you can do at your own pace.

Remember that we are here for you.
