Just got home from the doctor. I've got a major sinus and ear infection, my tonsils are swollen among other things. Anyhow he gave me a script for cymbalta. He also gave me a coupon for free 14 days until he gets my records from the other doctor. My insurance won't pay for the cymbalta unless the doctor can show proof that other meds didn't work for me. In the past 2 years I've been on paxil, celexa, effexor (that made me want to kill someone), and prozac. Think that should be sufficient evidence that they didn't work LOL. I'm also hopeful, even though reading here, it didn't work for alot of people.

I am going to lay down as I feel horrible.

Jeanie M,

I have been on all those and more but my insurance company, BCBS, won't cover the cost of this medication either. As there are still other medications on the list to try that are not this expensive and as you have not been on it yet to prove it is working for you be prepared to possibly run into  insurance issues.

I hope for your sake you do not.

Kitt don't tell me that as my insurance is an HMO associated with BCBS but I still feel optimistic after the visit today. This doctor is so different then my last one. All she seemed to do was throw a script at me and move on to the next patient. This guy sat and TALKED to me, he told me he'd do everything he could to find the right medicine for me and to help me feel better. I've never had a doctor treat me like he did. Maybe that's why I'm feeling a little more hopeful today. He explained alot to me and helped me understand more.

Like I told the new doctor this morning, I want to start living, I'm tired of just exisiting and that's how I feel living with the depression and anxiety. I don't want to leave the house, I'm not scared or paralyzed to leave I just don't want to. I just want to start living.

Jeannie,

I am so happy for you...

It sounds like you found a good doctor. That is fantastic.
