im having a bad night, and i really wanted some instant advice, or just some friendly chat, to get my mind off of whats going on, so i come to this forum
looking for support and encouragement, so i go to the panic/anxiety chat, and no one is even discussing the issue, i say im having a bad night, and i get no replies, i guess that just adds on to my bad night-does anyone else feel like they dont get support from the chat rooms? I am new here, but i thought
healingwell, meant supporting fellow guests, maybe im wrong......dutchone

hey dutchone,

sorry i am still learning about the net. the people in this community are an excellent source of compassion, information, kindness, and care. i try to reply to all, albeit i haven't touched a computer since uni 2001! due to med changes i find it hard to concentrate, thus when i can i tend to reply at mass. sorry that u having been having a few bad nights, me too! slept on the couch the last 2 nights with the tv on, 2 many indifferent dreams, i remember most of them, around six a night! that's why i take between 900-1200mg of seroquel. do not shut down easy.

i try to wind down with a late warm shower and play some music. yeah tis hard to wind down, but you need to train your body to get into a routine. i hope you find what works for you. if i can be of any help please let me know. try to wind down, this way your brain will learn that your getting ready for sleep mode. hey we care, i am sure the community will get back to you. so welcome, thanx 4 your post.

Hi Dutchone,

Sorry you are having a rough time. In my experience, there aren't a lot of people around here very late on Saturday night or very early on Sunday morning (North American eastern time).....but thankfully, Jamiee was here to talk! What kinds of things are stressing you out? I have troubles sleeping quite often, too, and I find that the stresses of the day come out in my dreams at night in weird and sometimes upsetting ways. I guess that's how our subconscious processes things...? Anyhow, I wanted to post to you and say 'hello' and offer my support to you. You really have come to a good place.

I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations but this is much more of a peer support forum board and the chat is available if members want to use it.  Your welcome to join any open chats.

Depression has a regular scheduled chat on Tuesdays.  If you click on the calendar you will see the scheduled chats. I have noticed that there are a fair amount of members that chat in the Depression Chat room around 6:00 PM CDT during the week.

You can post that you are in a chat room but that does not mean that someone is always available or is a chat type person so you may not get anyone to chat with and then there will be times you will find lots of people that will join you.

Perhaps you did not notice your caps were on in your post...............

14. No SHOUTING.  Remember, using ALL CAPITAL LETTERS in posts is considered yelling and rude, plus it is difficult to read.

I hope you are feeling better and that you look into joining in any chat that is going on as long as it is an open chat and not scheduled for that particular forum.

Take care.

Kitt

Hi Dutchone

First of all welcome to HW this really is a great forum and you will meet people here who understand what you are going through so please stay with us my friend. Sorry that you felt no one was there to help you in the anxiety forum but as Raniah said the forums tend to be quit during the weekends, I spend most of my time in the anxiety forum and it is a great place and all the members are very understanding as they are in this forum as well so please do give the anxiety forum an other go maybe start your own thread?. I can relate to you as i to suffer with terrible insomnia maybe getting 2-4hrs a night and find that this affects my anxiety and depression as i always feel tired, I also get bad nightmares and often wake in a panic and have suffered with these since childhood. I would recommend you go and see your doctor and tell him/her whats going on with you at the moment and see if they can give you something to help you sleep, I am due some CBT soon which is a type of therapy and find that talking to someone really does help me this may be something you could look into? Please keep posting here you are part of this wonderful family now and we are here to support you and help you through this rough time.

Take care my friend

Ben

Heeja One!

We can have a chat right now if you want. If you actually are from the Netherlands and want to talk in Dutch, well, I can help with that :-).

I would love to have a chat with you!

Take care,

Erik
