Just a gentle reminder of the Forum Rule pertaining to discussion of suicide........................

1. No discussion of any illegal activity or threats of violence. (ie. illicit drug use, including medical marijuana use, threats of suicide or self-injury, or threatened or intended physical harm).  Discussions of suicide or self-harm that are deemed negative and therefore potentially injurious to others are also not permitted.

Please remember we have members as young as 13 and discussions of suicide, what people used, how they harmed themselves etc is not considered appropriate for the forum.

I have been reading a lot of posts recently that pertain to suicide.

Due to the anonymity of the site and the fact that this is a peer support group and not responsible for calling any authority on any member that threatens suicide, we strongly encourage members to call the hotline , 911, a family member or a friend, or to check themselves in to the local hospital emergency room.

Thank you in advance for your understandin of this rule.

Kitt

dear kitt, what is the best method of reply, when the topic has been put forward and not edited? still being compassionate that is. thanx, jamie. some posts i see before the forum moderators, being where i am, thus i want to follow all protocols of the community- should i await the response of the moderators first? please advise. thank -you, i take this very seriously, and i naturally would advise people straight away to contact there hosp, psych services, or free call numbers in there country. regards, jamie.

Hi Jamie,

I think that your advice of hospital, psych services or the numbers to call (which are in our depression resources) is the best thing that you can do. If you see a post that is really bad, and no moderator is on, you can click on the admin alert and it will be taken care of asap. Thanks for your concern Jamie, that means a lot.
