My friend takes lexapro and says that it gives her a little energy, I haven't noticed her gaining any weight so I don't think that it makes you hungry. Have you looked it up on the internet to get some answers? I can imagine though that you would want first hand information from others who have taken it before.

I hope that it works good for you. I haven't heard about any bad side effects. I think that there is a past thread on it, so if you go back in the posts, you might find it.

I hope that you are having a good day today. Keep us posted Chartruex. Great hearing from you.

Hugs, Karen

I do not use this med but I did find you a thread that talks about Lexapro.  Just click on the link. :-)

Thank You for your replies and I had to wean off this medication as I just had a bad side effect
from it and not one I need...I've tried Cymbalta, nortripylene (sp?), and now lexapro and all have had
side effects.....

I have not had good luck finding a AD either and right now I have been off of Cymbalta for 2 months and not on any AD as I have tried so many without success or with so many side effects.  I have had rashs, been overdosed accidentally on Serazone and the story goes on.

I hope you are able to find one that will be the right fit for you.  I empathize with you 100%.

I have bad drug allergies and have experienced every side effect known to man and then some.  My Dr. just started me on a very very low dose of Celexa, about 10 days ago.  I woke up today and feel better than I have in months.  I did have nausea a couple of days but it went away.  So far I seem to tolerate this med pretty well.  I think Celexa is a lot like Lexapro, made by same manufacturer.

Keep trying to find the one that works for you.  Good luck.........
