HELLO ALL thought i would check back in , if anyone remembers i weened off of zoloft ,it has now been 6 months. no weight loss yet. i stay at 1200 calories i walk, i exercise, i mix it up so i don't plateau. still nothing has budged. this 24 pds really annoys me when your'e use to being thin. zoloft will make your appetite increase. i have read all the side effects, and a rare one that i got was making the breasts bigger, leave it to me to get the rare side effect. i do cheat at eating dessert now and then i'm human we all cheat. any other suggestions.i'm tired of listening to the so called experts who don't really know.  any help appreciated.

KJM,

Please do not feel alone, I have been off the Cymbalta for 1 month now and nothing has changed with the weight either..............in fact I gained a couple of more pounds.

I did start to get dang serious about the eating on Monday and will stick to a strick healthy plan and if nothing happens I will make an appointment to see my physician.  I know you can have that lag time between stopping the med and the body adjusting to it's old metabolism but I hate this as much as you must.

Take care,

Kitt

Hi there - I'm new to this site and I joined because I wanted to share my experience with Zoloft.. I have been on it since October 08 and when I started on it I weighed 130-135lbs.. Well as of April 24 08 I weighed 165lbs.. (I am 5'4) I am on Zoloft for depression/anxiety and the weight gain itself is even more depressing... Anyway, I stopped taking it April 24 because I am very active and watch what I eat and am on a sports team and my weight still wouldn't drop at all.. In the past week I've gone from 165lbs to 159lbs. That is with no more working out than before and no more food restrictions than before.. just stopping the zoloft.. I'm hoping to get down to my previous weight at some point! grrr..

Hi riggrw08,

I just wanted to welcome you to the forum. I wish that I could go off of my medication too, but I can't. Though I am glad that you were able to and happy that you lost the weight. I hope that you stay free from depression too. I know that losing weight can make us feel better. I exercise daily and walk a lot. I try to watch what I eat, though due to Easter, I ate candy, which is a no no. lol...

I hope that you have a wonderful day. Keep posting.

Hugs, Karen
