I started cymbalta 30mg low dose last night for depression due to chronic pain and possibility my hiatal hernia #2 surgery is not working.

Today I am drowsy and nauseous. Fell asleep on the counch for an hour. DO not dare drive until I know how I react.
Andmyleft ear aches a bit.

Does this pass or should I call Md and ask to be off it?

Is it related to lyrica? Because i cannot take that at all. Made me :outof myhead" Unable to think clearly

I would give it a few days in case it was a coincidence. That maybe something else was making you sick. But if it doesn't get better, I would call the doctor and let them know what is going on.

Lyrica and Cymbalta are not related or in the same category at all to the best of my knowledge but I am not a professional.

I know it takes 4-6 weeks for Cymbalta to kick into it's full therpeutic effects.  As far as the side effects I would at least give it a week unless you start to have severe side effects and then I would talk with your physician.

Take care

Thanks everyone -

I called the physician because by then I had 4 side effects - mainly I could not lift my head off the pillow. Abdominal pain, nausea, eyes felt funny, etc
I am ultra sensitive too meds.

She said to stop it and I am to see a psycho therpaist to see if she can find something to help me with depression due to chronic pain

Betty,

I am glad you called your physician.  It is good to hear you are your own best advocate.  I do hope you will be able to come up with a med that works for you.

I wish you peace,

Kitt
