Sometimes it's OK if we're not feeling up to making big, exciting plans for the weekend. Sometimes it's just emotionally, mentally and physically healing to do something that is good for our heart and soul. So go out and see a good movie (I suggested the new Pixar movie, "Up" last week), get up early to walk your dog, go find a great book to start reading, or call a friend that you've wanted to to touch base with for a while. Depression hurts, but sometimes starting somewhere with something little and that you enjoy, can make a world of difference.

I'm playing one-on-one basketball on Saturday with a friend I haven't seen in a couple months. We have to get up really early to beat the heat, but I'm sure it will be worth it. No promises that my 3-pointers will be as smooth and accurate as what the Lakers were able to put away tonight, but I'll try :-)

Happy weekend to all :-D

Heeja Night!

How are things going around there? Love your post :-). In fact, I have played some basketball just a hour earlier or so. Have been playing a lot lately after discovering a court just around the corner. Starting to get the hang of it now.

Anyway, thanks for the insight, we do deserve to give ourselves a pat on the back once in a while, and do the things we enjoy. Weekends are perfect for that. Have a fun game, and see ya around!

I plan to take my kids to a park this weekend, I dont know to do what, just hang out.... none of us are real sportsy, but my kids like to roll down the incline's of the soccer fields, they get all full of grass and mud.... its really funny.

Thats about all the plan I can handle, maybe a movie after??? That involves getting everyone to agree on the same movie..... geeze.

getting out and doing is important... doesnt really matter what....I think a change of environment can help change the mood.

ahh It's been a long while I haven't known what a weekend feels like :( because I haven't worked since last november. but in the past I always looked forward for the weekend because I get to play football with my regular team, it was a sand field and I often fall down and get muddy because of all the humidity, then going into the house was like being in siberia because the A/C was on and I was soaking wet lol. also I used to like clubing but all these things are in the past, I get too tiered to play football and I don't club anymore. it's sad that I don't get to do what I liked to do in the past, but I guess every period of your life is different and you get to do different things. for now all the days are the same for me, hopefully soon I will get a chance to work and that will change.

Hi Akram,

I have those thoughts about the past sometimes too, but I do believe there is a reason for the stages we go through in life, and you will find new and different things to enjoy as you move forward. I know it's tough when you're looking for work, but please keep the faith! You've got a good head on your shoulders, and good experience behind you, and I know that something will come along that's just right for you. In the meantime, maybe you could check into some new hobbies or activities that you haven't tried yet, to give yourself a boost! We can all use a change now and again. :-)

Erik! Good to see you my friend. Glad to see you're shootin some hoops! It's such a great workout.

I hope you got some good reading in, jamie! I'm doing some intense summer courses, so not a lot of time for fun and free reading right now, but maybe I'll get some of that in before the real school year starts.

Hanging out with your kids sounds like it would be a blast, asking! I love when kids let you forget about all your worries like that.

I agree with Raniah about discovering new things, Akram. See it as an opportunity to move onward and upward! I myself am trying to let go of things from the past. Parts are hard but it's sort of exciting too.

My friend and I didn't end up making it up in time for bball, but we saw another flick and ate a great lunch, so it was still a day well spent :-) Being flexible and going with the flow seems to be a pattern in my life right now, but I like it :-)

NW,

My grandaughter's graduation party was Saturday so I had a splendid time at the party and had the opportunity to visit with many friends and of course my own family.

It was a special weekend.

Great topic and glad you weekend was fun.

Heeja,

Glad to hear that you still had a good time Night! I actually managed to play some ball, in like 3 hour marathon. As I am pretty tall and have done athletics for a good decade, it is easy to dunk. And reverse dunk. And slamdunk, etc. So much fun :-).

Glad to hear most of you enjoyed your weekend, you all deserve it so much.

Take care my friends!

Thanks for letting us know that you spent some good time with the family, Kitt!

Reverse dunking sounds way fun. I'll have to work on that one :-)
