This is my introduction of me!
All my life I have had an undercurrent of depression. I have had over 2 years of one on one therapy with a first class therapist.
The therapy ended about 7 years ago.
I've joined this site to try "self help", it helps me to talk about my depression.
I'm from a large family, I have 3 brothers and 6 sisters (1 sister recently died).
We all have problems which stem from our fathers actions.
I also suffer from Social Anxiety Disorder.
My life has been dominated by these conditions, it's made me very lonely in life, made me take decisions I didn't really want to take, like my job choices, going to university, the way I married etc,.
I'm 53, male, divorced, now with a lovely lady for 5 years, from the UK.
I hope I can help others.

Thank you for the support and kind words, it means alot and certainly helps.

I have a tough time coming up.

My sister (49 years old), who is the youngest of ten children, has her funeral this Tuesday 16th June.
She leaves behind two sons, she was a beautiful and lovely woman who suffered from Bipolar.
I miss her.

Also due to the recession I was laid off work on the 1st May.
This has made me worry I will not find another job and I will let down my partner who I love very dearly and was lucky to find.

I try to look on the bright side of things, but it's hard at the moment.

Thanks again.

Hi Jamiee
Yes I have lots of great memories of my little sister, I'm glad she was my sister.
I will try to be tough and get by.
Thank you so much for your concern.
I'm sorry you've had problems with University and work.
In my first week at University I had a break down and left.
Everyone told me to go back and a year later I did.
Not sure it was the right thing to do, but I had good jobs after that.
Now I'm unemployed and worried.

I've not been very good with money during my life.
I'm in software development and need to settle down and enjoy life.
Can you say what sort of training you are doing?

Thanks and best wishes

You have my best wishes and prayers for Tuesday....I know it will be a sad time for you and your family. Please take care of yourself during your grief.

Try to take one day at a time with your job can be overwhelming to think of the future and all the 'what ifs', but if you pace yourself and do what you can each day, you can feel some satisfaction in knowing you are doing your best. I hope your significant other will be sounds like you two have a good relationship, and I'm sure she knows that you're doing what you can, and that you really care.

Hello Larry,

I am Kitt.  Welcome to HealingWell and the Depression Forum. I have found the support, validation and encouragement that I receive here, to be so helpful and healing. I hope and trust that will be your experience as a member of the HW family.

My deepest sympathy at the death of your sister.  My sister died on April 30th so I know how you are feeling.  It is never easy but you will keep her memory alive I am sure.

I look forward to getting to know you better.
