Sometimes its good to escape the pain of depression and sadness- I use music to do that. What kind of music do you listen to and why?

I like the same sort of music as Ben really - the killers are my favourite band. But I also love the beatles.

Heeja,

Music is emotion to me. Especially music that is made to trigger emotions, such as film music. I love that stuff, and most of all film style music that isn't composed for a film. Get that? :-). And well, progressive music is awesome too, as it is way more fun to listen to than pop in my case, as a lot more is going on in progressive music.

Have a good day my friends

smilewinkgrin  My music pill is classical, new age, symphonic.... piano, violin.... calming, soothing... if the stars are aligned just right, it can completely take me away. I put this music on in the background on my computer at work....  when I start to get overwhelmed, which is quite often, i can go to my computer and take a 1 to  3 minute "sanity" break, it really helps.

Ben, you and i already know we share the same tastes! my all time fave band is Pearl Jam but i love the emotive sounds of Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Sia etc. Love the Cure, Jeff Buckley, Oasis, Breeders, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies, Cat Power, Nirvana, Hole, Veruca Salt, Silverchair,  Tea Party etc. I like my music LOUD. I like lots of guitars, and a dash of piano.

(when im really angry, after a day at work as a high school teacher at a juvey type school, i confess that i crank Eminem up in the car and "Just Lose It." lol)

Hey it's great to see Aussie bands in the list...Acca Dacca are the best. Plus Silverchair. Check out Powderfinger if you haven't heard of them before, fantastic stuff.
