Hi family- every day I will pose a question that most likely wont focus on the negatives, its good to have a thread where we can share the positives- so today I pose a question that makes us think about life outside our cosy homes-

What is your favourite season and why?

Mine is winter- I love rugging up in warm coats and scarves, i love rain, the feel of fresh air stinging my face, the smell of wood burning in the fireplace, the opportunity to curl up with a good book while the wind outside howls- and decaff chai tea.

Your turn!

Hi Maz,

My favorite season is autumn. I pick berries and apples. It is cooler and less humid. I love getting outside but dread what comes after. Then winter comes and I wait for spring.

Hugs, Karen

i have no fav's. just blessed to be here and alive. come what may, as it always does and always will. rain-water, sun-warmth, wind-cleansing air, snow-food for the forests, seasons come and go, seasons are becoming blendid, seasons are, indifferent, as we all are. seasons are marked on the calender, but seasons have no concept of time or place. the season of compassion is the one for this rat rsce. and the one for me. a tad philisophical, sorry. jamie. excellent topic. smilewinkgrin

Jamie....I enjoyed your answer. It gave me something interesting to think about today, and I appreciate that!

I enjoy aspects of all seasons, too, but I'd have to go with Karen and say I enjoy autumn the most. I love the crisp, cool air, the beautiful colours on the trees, the smell of the fallen leaves after it rains, the welcome quiet after the summer tourists have gone and the kids are back in school (sorry, kids!), and the sight of the birds feasting on berries and the squirrels gathering and burying their loot.....it's a wonderful time of stocking up and settling down, and looking forward to the holidays ahead.

Great topic Maz... MIne is Fall/Autumn. because it means the hot summer is over (summers where I live are very hot), the breeze becomes cool, the colors or fall are beautiful....it means its easier and more practical to drink coffee, it means the kids are back into the groove of school.

I love pumpkins, carving for Halloween, roasting the seeds, I just have them sitting around with other fruits of the season, pomegranits (sp) apples etc. I love the "harvest".

Jamie your post on appreciation and compassion is profound. I have read it 3 times now.... wow.

Everyone have a great day!

Gem here!

I really love Fall.  I feel like I come alive!  I live in North Carolina and the summers are brutal, 95 degree days and 900%(haha) humidity, it gets kind of draining but the cool air revives!

Please, a positive post everyday.........................I look forward to it!

Hi

My favorite season is the winter as it means i can get away from things and go skiing, When im skiing it seems to focus my mind and for that short moment my worries seem to have gone and that is the best feeling in the world .
