Hello Henry,

Welcome to HealingWell.  I am so happy to see you found us.

It sounds to me like you have a very understanding and supportive Mom.  Would you be able to talk to her about getting you some counseling as this may be a good place for you to talk through your feelings about being gay.

A therapist should be able to help you identify how you can deal with your feelings as well as help you come up with a plan on how to talk with your friends about your feelings.

I am posting a link to a site for teens that may be of help to you.

Take care and do keep talking with us.

Hi Henry,

I too am glad that you have an understanding mother. That is so cool.

I am with Kitt on this, I think that counseling will help. With the situation as is, I see you get uncomfortable around other people because you aren't sure whether or not to say anything about your sexuality. Also it must be hard to be attracted to somebody who is straight.

Use the website that Kitt gave you and please do seek counseling.

Hugs Karen

kitt and karen are right, your mum is cool. hey, once you learn some tools you will know when to engage the subject-and subversly when you should not. sad that peoples sexuality sometimes requires this. jamie. i admire your courage in posting. jamie, male, 37.
