I really cant figure it out. I could sleep 22 out of 24 hours a day if I were allowed.. But, I went to sleep a little after 2 and all of a sudden I sat up wide awake and alert around 4:50. I am not sleepy at all. I dont understand? Normally I would sleep as long as possible, plus more. So, why all of a sudden I am not tired anymore? Im never awake this time of day. I dont even know what to do with myself at this time of day! lol rolleyes

I don't know but I know how frustating it can be. I have had a really hard time sleeping since I have been on Prozac. have tried taking B1 and B6 which is helping somewhat. Hang in there. Duck

My sleep is so off and abnormal..I cant even believe it! I am only taking Cymbalta right now. My pdoc suggested I try Melatonin, but I havent had any money to go get some. The past few weeks I have went from sleeping at night to sleeping during the day and staying up at night. Then, I started sleeping at night and taking 2 long naps during the day! Then, I starting sleeping all night and most of the day, only being awake for a max of 4 hours. Then, I had a few normal nights. NOW, Im sleeping a max of 3 hours!

What is up! Yes, it is very frustrating! I am SO off track and trying to do all the right stuff to aid in my feeling better, just like the doc told me to, but it isnt working.

I may have to call and get an earlier appt since my depression seems to be getting worse and to also discuss my bizarre sleep patterns. But, as soon as I get some money I am going to try the Melatonin...its worth a shot. At least I will know I have tried everything that has been recommended, and more....

Christi,

I didn't get my ambien this month. That is what I use for sleep. So I have been struggling too. Yesterday somebody suggested melatonin. I took one last night and was out like a light. I don't think that it is very expensive so that is a plus. I take the three milligrams. They have one and three, I think. As we get older we lose the natural melatonin that is in our bodies. But that usually happens when we get in our thirties.

I use to drink what is called sleepytime tea. It has natural sleep aids in it. That might be a thought also. There is also valarian. It is natural valium. It smells like stinky feet though.

I hope that you can get some rest.

Hugs, Karen

I still can not beleive that I only slept for 2 hours and I was wide awake. I havent been sleepy at all today or anything! That is so abnormal for me. I wish it was like that all the time!

I bought some Melatonin at Walmart today and I already took one, 3mg. I'll post the results, if any, tomorrow.

Thanks

My doc said to get the 3 mg and cut it in half... but I took the whole thing and guess what...

it helped! honestly, I cant remember waking up last night..I dont think I did! lol but not sure... and this morning, I was really sleepy, but I had to get up early so... I didnt notice any side effects after that, except me being sleepy when I had to get up, but thats to be expected anyways. I took one already and am starting to feel sleepy and yawn so Im about to lay down!

It may be worth trying. Its not expensive and there is alot of them in a bottle. I think mine was 5 or 6 dollars at walmart for the 3mg and theres 120 in the bottle so... its not bad and if you have trouble sleeping, its worth a try I suppose.

Lets see if it really does work and it wasnt just last night! So, Im headed to bed. Thanks!
