I completed this video to reflect what I have experienced as a young adult with depression. I think there are many young adults suffering from depression who are not pursuing the help they need. Please watch it and let me know you think.

I did not watch the video as I have dial up.  I just wanted to say that I was a young adult suffering from depression (heck I was a depressed child) but my parents wouldn't take me seriously, saying stuff like I was too serious, caught up in it all, shy, whatever. It was when I got my own insurance through work that I was diagnosed. I feel like I've been fighting depression all my life.

The security system on my puter would not allow this link to open.  Someone else posted one they made themselves a while back.........wondering if that was you?
Just curious.

I had the same problem as Kitt.  My computer would not let me into the website.

Jeannie,

I can totally relate. It is unfortunate that there is still a cultural stigma placed on depression and individuals and loved ones don't realize the symptoms.

Aurora, Kitt, Thank you for trying to watch the video. It's weird it wouldn't let you in. This is the first time I have ever made a video for YouTube so I am still learning. It's funny when I was looking at the site, there have been other videos with the exact same title- I guess my idea was not that original but then again what does that say about our culture when several different groups unknowingly make videos called, Depression IS Real.

Thank you for your support!

QL1,
First off, Welcome to Healing Well.

There was a problem with your link that I fixed, other than that, no changes to your post. The video is really very good. I had a bit of a hard time keeping up with the fast changing text towards the end, but overall it has a really great message. What a wonderful ad to put together for depression! Congrats!

blessings,
Frances
