m'k. i'm not sure how good at...blogging i am so if its totally horrible, i apologize early.
Lately, i have been changing, and...thats normal for a 17yr. old...but i've been getting into these horrible moods. This mood, springs out of nowhere...and when it happens i feel so angry...so upset, and nothing helps...nothing makes me happy when i get into this mood...does anyone know what this could be?
I cry at random times...for no reason..i havn't been getting alot of sleep. I'll go to bed early-ish, and find myself laying in bed for hours trying to sleep. I feel completely exhausted, but i feel like there is nothing i can do to help.
Loss of appetite is also starting to happen...For the past week, i've only eaten one meal a day...i've cut back on soda...makes me feel weak, but when i try to eat...nothing is appetizing...
could this be due to a large amount of stress?...or...does it just happen to everyone sometimes?

Please get back to me as soon as possible.

Signed,
Princess B

You kind of sound like me at times except that I'm 40. I'm sorry you are feeling the way you are no 17 year old should. Young people should be out enjoying their young lifes. I know things are hard I am not the one to tell you what to do. I have been in counseling a time or two or three or .... well more than I care to count. But that might be a thought for you and you can do that one on your own without your parents. It's just a thought. Keep writing in here we all help eachother.

Hello Princess B

Welcome to HealingWell and the Depression Forum.  I am so sorry to hear you are having problems.  I am wondering if you are able to talk with someone close to you who might be a support person for you.

How about your parents?  You may also have access to a school counselor?  I would really like to see you have a good medical screening with your physician to make sure you do not have a medical problem going on.
I know you will meet lots of wonderful members here in this great forum so please do stick with us and know we care.

Gentle Hugs
Kitt

Princess B,
Does anyone in your family have depression or any other mental illness issues that you know of? Since it is sometimes genetic I was just wondering? Is there something going on in your personal life or at home that may have caused your symptoms. I agree that you should talk with a counselor, maybe start with your school counselor, or if you go to church you could talk with your pastor or whatever. Let us know how you are doing.

Hi PrincessB,

I agree with the above posts, counseling is a great idea. You are young and should be enjoying your life. I hope that you get this figured out.

I wanted to also welcome you to the forum. as you can see we have a lot of wonderful members here.

Also as Kitt said, you might want to talk with your medical doctor to make sure nothing else is going on. But it does sound like depression.

Best wishes to you for a wonderful day.

Hugs, Karen

Well, i'm not very close with my family...so talking to them is a little awkward...and school doesn't start for another 4 weeks. I havn't heard of anyone in my family having problems like that...but like i said, i'm not that close to them.
I'm under alot of stress, i worry about things alot...even very simple things...and i over react.
Thank you all for getting back to me so soon.

Signed,

Hi there,

I am so happy that you posted. I understand about not being close to your family. I was the same way. I found out that my brother is trying to get ahold of family members and it scares the hell out of me. I want to see him, but I get scared. But I am going to take the advice that I am going to give you. Take life one day at a time and try to live in the moment. Mindfulness and living in the now. Pay attention to the little things going on around you. Stay in the moment.

This is easier said than done, I know. But we both have to try. It makes life a lot easier that way. Try not to worry. Worrying only makes us more ill. And stresses us out. Let's both try to do this, together. I will if you will and I know that we can tackle this.

Best wishes for a wonderful relaxing day.

Hugs, Karen

Hi Princess,

I can't really talk to my family either, so I know how that is. However, it does help to talk with someone about the problems and stresses in life, and I would agree with the others that counseling might help. It sure has been a life-changing experience for me. You might want to talk to your doctor and see if there are some tests that could be done or something that could be prescribed to get things stabilized for you. It might be something physical that is causing some of your symptoms. Whatever you decide, I hope you will find a way to get back to regular eating and sleeping...that is so important to how we feel physically and mentally/emotionally. Take good care, and keep posting with us. ((hugs))

and i havn't had the time or money to get a new one with all the money i need to save up for a car and all my senior expenses.
Music use to help me...until certain songs...reminded me of certain people who....dont treat me well...and stress me out...or maybe...it reminds me of certain situations...idk.

Dear Princess...

BELIEVE me I know all about not being close to your family and feeling that people don't treat you right....I am far from being a doctor..But the best advice I can give you is TALK to someone.. I have kept to my self all through my childhood and kept everything bottled up and eventually it comes creeping back to you when you least expect it....I have found some FREE help on the net maybe you might want to take a look at it.. If you can't talk to a friend or your family sometimes the best help is a stranger....here are the links I found..

Hi Acnaib,

I'm glad you came to join us, and to post those helpful links here. I hope you will feel welcome to come back and share some more.

Princess,

Maybe something else artistic would do the same for you....painting or drawing perhaps. Please don't give up on finding something to 'take you away' like photography did, at least until you can afford to fix your camera or buy a new one. It's really important to have a creative outlet like that when you are feeling overwhelmed. I hope things get better soon. ((((hugs))))

From HARA: Just don't listen  to the songs that stress you out and such, or you sing them at the top of your lungs and dance crazily around the room until it's over. Then you will flop down on your bed and you will go to sleep for a while. It works for me  - sometimes it takes a few songs to put me out.
